Welcome to the board.  We are here if you need to vent or ask questions. We are not experts but since we are going thru the same thing we can compare notes.

Head hunger can be worse than real hunger. I didn't start getting real hunger for over six months. Its easy to over do it early out because you haven't regained all the feeling. Instead of eating  try drinking protein drinks and sip all day. Then eat three times a day. Follow your rules and it will get easier.
My prayers go out to your grandaughter and all your family for comfort and healing.

Topic: update on my brother
He is holding his own. They had to put in a trach on Weds. because he is still on the vent.He has had surgery on his leg and one arm, wrist. He has a feeding tube and they are still keeping him on very heavy sedation. Some of his bones were broken multiple times. The eight broken ribs seem to be the reason he is not able to breathe on his own.
I think this weekend they are going to try to start weaning him off some of the meds and the vent. He is going to really have a long recovery.
I had to come home but may go back in a week or two. He is still in the neuro-trama unit but they think he has no brain injury. When he wakes up they will know for sure but all the CT's were good. His helmet saved his life. If you know anyone who rides a bike without one please beg them to wear one.He has facial injuries and was knocked out but no brain bleeds. His helmet was messed up so it would have been fatal without it.
Keep him and his family in prayer. He is a hospital about 75 miles from home so its even harder on his wife.

Lady bug ....honey what you are feeling is head hunger not stomach hunger, it is remembered  sort of like ghost pain from an arm or leg being taken off and they feel pain in that ......well the hunger you are feeling is much the same....believe me when i say that if you went in and tried to eat what ever it is you are thinking you want.....well lets just say that they better clear a path way to the bathroom for you .lol .....

So so sorry to hear about your sweet young GD....that is so sad when babies have to be sick isnt it.? Will be praying for Her , can you tell me her name so i can pray more personally.....and also for your Son in law.....How come they all live with you? not trying to be nosey , i guess just a sign of the times ...
Your energy level will come back little by little , are you walking? even if it is just 2 or 3 minutes.   I started out by walking back and forth in the house for a few minutes then i went outside after i had gained some ability to not fall all the time and walked around and around the house....when i felt comfortable doing that i walked around the block ,,,,,you didnt lose your mobility overnight and those muscles are just useless. you will have to build them back up....make a bargain with your self...for every pound you lose you walk that many more minutes. .....will be surprised....your energy levels will soon be through the roof....

Praying for you and your family   love and hugs.

Topic: Struggling!
I seem like I am really struggling with my diet right now. I am on the soft stage but i feel so hungry all the time. I am sure I am eating too fast then feel uncomfortable afterward but then get really hungry again.
I am also going through a lot that is causing stress and that adds to my food issues. My grandaughter went into heart failure just before thanksgiving. She was in the hospital in Springfield and they released her in heart failure with out her being stable and she ended up in St Louis this week at Barnes Children's hospital. She is going through testing now for a heart transplant. she is only 12 but has had heart disease since birth.  She is my oldest grandaughter and lives with me along with her 3 siblings and my daughter & son-in-law. My daughter has been a stay at home mom for a while now with the 4 kids and my son in law was in a pretty bad car accident recently and has not been able to return to work.
With the health concerns and the financial stress I am having a tough time. I get worn out so fast still and it is hard for me to stand for very long to even fix meals for myself. Mobility has been an issue for me even before surgery so I expect it to take a little longer to get energy built back up. I am so anxious to get back to work but it seems like I am not progressing very fast. I am going stir crazy!
I covet prayers and advise!

Topic: WHATS HAPPENING THURSDAY
Need to go to Wally world this morning to get some things for our Christmas on the 12 and fini**** all up so i wont be running at the last minute....but just hate to waste the gas to make an extra trip into town....but if i don't then i will have to go in about 3 hours early to work tomorrow and i will be extra tired at the end of my shift tomorrow night ....hmmmmm 6 of one , half dozen of the other....

my bones are aching so much this morning that i can barely walk at times. especially that bad knee. lol i call it bad even tho it has been replaced because of the mess that Doctor made.  My lawyer is working on it ...hopefully he will get it all fixed without ever going to court or anything.
He has the xrays showing how crocked it is .....so ....anyway i have 2 years to file it so if it doesn't get done before we go off for the winter it will wait till spring...at least it shouldn't hurt while it is warm where we are going.

after our Christmas is over and we get some money in that we are expecting in then i will give my 2 weeks notice and we will get everything all set to leave and then i will buy our plane tickets , leaving us enough time to drive with stopping to see several of our friends along the way....we plan on taking our trike but on a trailer this year so that will be left along with our truck and other stuff at my Sisters in Houston and she will take us to the airport and pick us back up .....then we will continue on with our trip to AZ...for the rest of the winter. ...where we wont be bac****il around the middle of March. about the time to plant the early part of the garden. the lettuce, carrotts, peas i know how much of each of those to plant this year. i need to plant about 4 times as much of the cold weather veggies and plant about a tenth of lettuce. i had so much lettuce last year that i couldnt keep up with eating it all. and if you just cut it off and dont pull it up it will keep producing ....im also going to try brussel sprouts and califlower again. ....have never gotten them in the ground early enough i think...anyway getting excited even talking about planting lol crazy woman huh? havent even gotten thru winter yet.

The tree guy still hasnt come and cut down the two big elms in our front yard....we have got to get them gone before we go off this winter for sure. they have become dangerous. too close to the house and one of them is split ...just afraid what a bad winter of snow, wind, and ice might do to them and what they would in turn do to our house ....

well better get off here and put the coffee on so i can get my protein coffee down ....talk at you all later. love and hugs
