It is SO nice to see posts from people who are more than a few years out.  On the Michigan Board, most of the people who are more than 2 years out seem to have disappeared.  I've always found that the OH board, even when I don't post, keeps me focused on what needs to be done to succeed.  I can't even tell you how many people I know who had weight loss surgery only to gain most of their weight back.  It is so sad because they have all the tools and knowledge to succeed, but don't follow though.  Since day one, I was determined NEVER to go back to my old lifestyle.  It is a daily struggle, but my new lifestyle and eating habits have brought me a new life.  It is something I do not take for granted.  So what does the "new guy" have to do to get more people to post?  I'm sure everyone has something to share, even if it doesn't seem worthy of anyone's attention.  Even after being 7 1/2 years out, I always find something new to share with others.  Went to the Rib America downtown and was reminded for the millionth time that my pouch is still the boss.  At least if I'm going to stuff myself with food, it was protein!  Hope all of you are doing well.  Time for bed.  God bless!

Welcome to this MO boards the most active members seem to know each other in the north and south western part of the State.  I had surgery 11/2/10 - VSG and had it at De Paul.  The support meeting I attended are not very structured but have been pleaseant and educational.  I hve mobility issues and find it VERY difficult to attend as the parking lot is very full and then a LONG hilly walk to the May Center at De Paul.  Welcome.

Good morning Susan, good to see you on again today, makes me happy to see you every day.

My granddaughter that lives in Joplin says you cant begin to get an idea how bad it really is there unless you see it for yourself...they were fine the tornado wiped out everything up to their street on two sides was amazing that they were untouched, but that is the way tornadoes are i guess. weird.

I too am packing ,packing and packing.....except im trying to decide what to keep and what to sell...for awhile i had more i was keeping than selling but i have turned that all around now . the bad thing is that we cant make arrangements for shipping of stuff till we know how much extra money we are going to have. so will have to wait until after the sale ....oh you know that Barbara is coming down a few days before the sale to help me set everything out didnt you? just thought that would give you all an incentive to come to the sale since she will be here. you would have to get up early to be here by the time the sale starts i guess ....unless you came the night before....Barbara is going to be staying in the motel on 160 across from the new justice center....

well got to get ready to go to the chriopractor again this morning . hands and arms are still getting numb but not as much i dont think anyway.
talk to you later.

Topic: RE: OT - "Super" Plus Size Clothes Desperately Needed in Joplin, MO

Thank you so much!  She's actually had a very big response already - I put out cross-posts on the MB & the DS board & I believe at least 8 people are sending her clothes.

If you want to help :), I would send the clothes to me & I will see that they get donated specifically to the people who need those larger clothes.  In general, there's been a ton of clothes donated, but there's still need for MO & SMO people.  I work as a counselor at MSSU, next to Ligget & Platt.  I know I've seen at least 1 very large woman who is wheelchair bound, others who are probably in a 3x, & I know there's other shelters in the city.

I will PM you with my contact info if this sounds good.

Thanks,
Lisa
