Topic: Wonderful time at our January support group meeting
My friend Marlene and I started our support group * Little by Little* almost 3 years ago...We have a great group of members, and we work hard at bringing new topics, ideas, and such to our meetings...We started the New year out with a fun filled meeting...Our meeting started with everyone doing exercises to an oldie but goldie song...We handed out horns for everyone to blow while exercising...Just something to add some laughter and fun to the exercises...
We gave a short 5 minute talk on the fruit Clementines, and even handed out some for everyone to snack on...We discussed our old and new business, as usual...Our 3rd year anniversary is coming up in May, so we are working hard to make it a great evening for everyone...We are planning on doing a scavenger hunt in the basement of the church where we meet...We will form groups and everyone will be given hints to where they will try to locate certain items such as recipes, cook books, healthy snacks, magazines, cooking utensils and etc...Well at least thats what we have in our thoughts so far...We have a member, Janett who will sing for us...She has such a beautiful voice...Wayne is going to write a few new poems to recite for us...We will have a healthy carry-in that night...If anyone has any ideas on things to do at our party, please feel free to share them with me...
Anyways, back to our meeting...We had a really nice door prize, which was a big basket full of goodies including a George Foreman grill, hot pads, jars of seasoning...Marlene and I did a skit about our New Years Resolutions...We dress up and call ourselves * The Wishy Washy Women*...We wore funky looking aprons, glasses, bonnets...Our skit started out with us joining their support group...We had some funny Resolutions, and everyone seemed to get a good laugh out of them...
We closed the meeting and then had a surprise birthday party for Megan, who is Marlenes daughter...She just turned 10...We did this to thank her for all that she does for our group...She helps the members carry their things up and down the steps, she also helps set up tables and helps to decorate for parties and etc...She also hands out print out sheets, slips for door prizes...She will even stand at the door upstairs to greet people/ and new visitors...She has been a true blessing to our group...
Such a wonderful meeting me had...Just wanted to share it with everyone here on OH...If you happen to live in the Greenville/Troy/Piqua/Dayton area and would like to join our group, please feel free to message me for more details...Tammy

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only TRUE FRIENDS will leave footprints in your heart...And may that friendship have such a ONENESS that when one weeps the other will taste salt...Friends are like balloons ; once you let them go you can't get them back....So I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose you.
Topic: RE: Lima Support Group Meeting Reminder
I'd be willing to go to a support group anywhere in the Lima or surrounding areas. I'm having my surgery on 2/4 with Dr Bruce in Dayton. I can use all the support I can get!

any members out there east of columbus? I'm searching for some support people. I'm a long way out, and I'm back the same ground I was on prior to RNY, but I still want to lose a solid 30 pounds. LOVE to lose another 60+, but 30 would make me very happy....just some contact with those who understand, but won't "baby" me too much might help. Post here if you want some online support....

Topic: RE: Lima Support Group Meeting Reminder
Jim, are there still Support Group Meetings at Lima Memorial? I work there and haven't seen anything on the in-house calendar. I work at Lima Memorial, and have started seeing Dr. Peter Lalor in Bowling Green. I have my first visit with the dietician on Monday, Jan. 10th, 2011. I have already seen Dr. Lalor once, and have had all of the lab, x-rays, UGI that he ordered. Still need a CT of abdomen (I had my stomach stapled in 1985 and have developed an incisional hernia) and Dr. Lalor wants to check the anatomy and extent of the hernia. I would love to attend the Support Group Meetings at LMH, but, have to adjust my schedule accordingly (I work 7p-7a). Thank you.
Topic: RE: please share your personal experience w/ Dr Bruce from Dayton Bariatric Center
I tried to get in to see Dr. Bruce/Dr. Clarey, as recommended by my personal physician.
They, unfortunately are not covered by my insurance. I do know, that the office staff were
very helpful in scheduling and dealing with my insurance. I am now working with Dr. Peter Lalor in Bowling Green. I am very happy with him and his staff. I am from Wapakoneta, OH>

Topic: RE: Lake County Folks
If you find any groups please let me know.. I am in Painesville, had my surgery 9-06, lost 120lbs, made it almost to goal and have now gained 18lbs.. I need to find a group and get back on track with my protein first mantra... It would be rough for me as I have no car at this time but do need some kind of motivation...
Good luck to you o this fantastic live changing journey... How much do you have to lose?
