Mean People Suck

Ok, we've all had surgeries that limit the amounts we can consume.  Don't let anyone tell you that you have no self control-it takes a bloody lot of self control to fight the insurance company or cough up several grand.

Basically, we've just gone in an installed a shut off switch......or fixed a leaky toilet   What's the difference?  My body is like my house, it's where I live and I want to take care of it.

 Was I a more moral person when my toilet leaked or my stomach held more?   Pfffffft.  I don't think so.

 

I am sorry someone was mean to you.  Unfortunately there is a lot of misinformation out there about WLS.  Folks speak from a position of lack of knowledge (I wanted to say stupidity but that is not true- they can learn but choose not to!)  WE know what we did was not cheating  or the easy way.  WE know we made an informed medical choice that would improve our quality of life.  I chose to be very public about my decision to have WLS.  I guess I feel it is my job to teach anyone who asks or makes an uninformed comment. This is going to sound harsh.  But I simply don't care what anyone else thinks about my decision.  I did this for ME!  I did this for my future and for my husband and I am thrilled so far!

that is how i feel too , if someone disagrees that is their choice ......i did this for my health and to feel good about ME, and i have never been so happy!!!

I have finally reached that place where I honestly don't care what anyone thinks about the WLS.  But, I do correct anyone that tries to spread or share their mis information with me or others when I am in ear shot.  Grin!

Oh, I was just ranting on a rant I started on someone else's post.....but it felt good.

I really don't care any longer what other people think, but it took a long time to get there.  Someone like the other poster hasn't had time yet to adjust to the reality of their decision, and even form an opinion if it was a good or bad decision.

I truly believe a lot of what people voice towards us is really their own doubt and frustration and I try not to take it personally, but at the same time, I really don't need to carry their "stuff" around either-I gots stuff of my own (but a lot less of it).

I do wonder if it's easier or harder for men-I would think other men would be less likely to comment about something like that.  We gals, well, we DO like to talk.

I'll be the first to say something about this....  idon't think men have to comment about things like this simply because we don't answer to most things that we don't wish to hear...  (just ask my ex-wife) lmao....seriously though.... I'm sorry people weren't cool with you about insurance requirements or whatever but ultimately you pay their salary and I'd do everything in my power to make their life a living hell if they said something bad to me or someone that I found out about... Life is filled with karma, so I do believe when someone does something bad, it will come back to them, so don't worry about the evils that people do unto you, because life has a way of returning the favor to them... I do wonder....  if mean people suck then what do nice people....oh nevermind.... g'night girly-girl... T.

No argument here! It shows how absolutely lacking in knowledge someone is when they say this is *the easy way out*. They simply have no clue at all! Nor have they been in my shoes ... or in the shoes of anyone else with these health issues.

come to the gym with me 7 days a week let them see if that is the easy way out lol
