I just went for my first bike ride in about 32 years!  What a blast!  I bought an inexpenisve 7 speed, gorgeous pink cruiser.  I need to adjust the seat but I am not strong enough to release the quic k release mechanism.  My son may be here tonight or I can get the kid next door to do it when he gets home from work.   I didn't ride far but totally enjoyed myself!  I knew I pushed it a little too far because I forgot to pace myself for the return to home!  I had major jello legs when I got off!  I will go again tonight when the seat has been adjusted.  I am hooked!!  Oh, I bought a bike rack so I am MOBILE!  And, a helmet.  I figured the elbows and knees would heal if I crashed nbut the brain not so much so! FUN, FUN, FUN!!! Denise]

PINK RULZ!!!!!!!!  If the wind don't blow, we should totally ride somewhere this weekend.

I've got an extra spot on my rack (errr, bike rack).

Funny story-In Dallas I was loading groceries into my truck, and the stock boy walked by and said "Nice Rack"....and I was mortified, till I realized he was talking about my bike rack....LOL.

I spit Fresca all over my desk on that one!!! This is so funny about the bikes. My sister in Alma, AR just bought an older model bike...the old fashion kind and goes riding every morning. She is loving it but says she needs a new seat! She now wears a fanny pack like our mother and stops by garage sales to rest. She is 58 and has reverted back to her childhood. What is it with the bikes and our generation now?? The best exercise around I guess. I have not reached that point yet...I'm sticking with walking the dog and going to Aspen to work out. Who knows though, you girls are making it sound fun!!

Hooray for you, Denise!!! I love it!!! We all need to post pictures of our bikes, helmets, and maybe even an action shot!!! : )

I've been riding about a month now, and I still get jello legs when I push myself! I'm hoping that they will go away one of these days. ; )

I'm totally excited for you!!!

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

You wonderful ladies hooked me.  I can't wait until mornign so I can go again!  My son will be here soon and he can adjust my seat for me.  I think I will ride happier when the seat is high enough.  for a little short thing I have long legs!  I think my sister, GlitterGal will get a bike very soon.  She was excited when I told her. My bike rack is a cheap one but it did the job admirably.  I am not sure I will have time to ride with you ladies this weekend but definitely the next weekend.  Let me know where and when.  Maybe I can have increased my endurance by then.  I wimped out pretty quick today.  Uh, can I blame it on riding into that horrible wind??? I bought a bike!  It's a Schwinn from Target and it's blue.  I bought a different seat for it.  They had one that doesn't have the banana edge so I think it will be more comfortable.

Hubby is working on getting a bike rack for us ...but it's rather a big deal to put a trailer hitch on a Prius. He wants to get a bike rack like Deb's so we can haul both of our bikes ... but it takes a bit of ingenuity and technical jerry-rigging to get that hitch on a Prius! (Nothing bad at all meant to anyone named Jerry!)

We already have a hitch on the truck, but he wants to be able to take the bikes with our car. Me, I think he wants to tinker and take on the challenge of getting a hitch on our car!!! You know how men are... ; )
