Oy! We had huge storms here yesterday and were without power until just a little bit ago.  I didn't do my usual walking today, but I think cutting up all the downed tree limbs in our yard and hauling em to the back counts for something! Yikes!  What a mess - but it could have been worse.  Lots of others in the city were hit much harder than we were and will be without power until Saturday, so I am counting our blessings! Huggs, Pam

Wow! I'm glad you have electricity back and that you're OK! And yes, cutting and moving limbs and stuff is definitely a BIG workout! I hope you have just regular workouts for the rest of the year. ; )
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

AM gardening, toting buckets of water/feed, etc.

PM-Dog class.  Counts quadruple.....Prissy threw the mother of all meltdown psychotic fits-and I had to ignore it.  It was a good exercise for both of us, and when she switched out of psycho mode she hit every other command in the class.

Now, Priss weighs 3.5 pounds and several of the other dogs were well over 50, but it's not like the first time she's been out in the world-it was, her first and hopefully last wall eyed fit.  People were staring and probably thought I was an awful dog owner, because my dog is snarling and foaming at the mouth and I am totally ignoring her while she sat under my chair and growled and shrieked for 30 minutes.  If she rushed out snarling, i would correct her softly and put her back at my side, but beyond that I just sat there and ignored the drama.

But the end result was she realized that I, not she, controlled the situation and I was able to walk her on a loose leash right under the big dogs noses (who were in no danger whatsoever....)  With shopping and practice, we probably got in 40 minutes of walking.

Well, Prissy gets -10 points for having a meltdown ... especially in such a public forum. ; ) And yes, you get quadruple points for exercising under stress with a dog having a meltdown! I've been there and done that ... it ain't fun. ; ) But, hooray for good exercise following the tantrum so both of you and exercise the stress away! : )
