Becky,  That sounds like a big number but it also sounds like you're doing AWESOME.  So keep up the good work and keep us informed of your progress.  If you're starting to slow down, that's no biggie, that's your body telling you that it's adapting to you method and maybe it's time to shift to a different strategy to keep or bypass the current rate that you're burning the fat.  Maybe an extra 30 minutes worth of a different workout would b something that you could do.  Sounds like you're doing awesome!  i'm proud of ya! Becky, you must be overwhelmed.  I know I felt that way when I had to lose 40 lbs to have mine.  Actually they said 34 but I had already lost 7 before my appt.  Guess what?  you don't have to lose 100, you only have to lose 57lbs to get your surgery.  Focus on the 57 not the 100.  Anna will probably be chiming in.  She knows how you are feeling too.  Just think, with 100 already gone before surgery you are just about guaranteed to lose all of the rest with your WLS.  I also agree that if they see your consistant progress and understand you have to do it during Christmas break, they may work with you since you are having to lose so much.  Hang in there.  Whine here all you want.  I certainly have and this group is wonderful to listen, cry with you, or even kick you in the pants if you need it. -Amy

You're not the first I've hear of who has to lose that much. There is someone who attends support group who is going through the same thing and has at least that much if not more to lose. I know it bites to hear it, but it's for your personal safety during the surgery. It's not to test will power or anything like that. It shrinks your liver which lies on top of your stomach thus making it easier for him to maneuver around inside of you, which is a good thing! Congrats on losing the weight so far..that's awesome! Something you need to remember is that muscle weighs more than fat so by exercising that much, you're building muscle which shows on the scale. The good news is that all that muscle helps burn the fat. Keep drinking the water. It really does help. I sucked down Crystal Light (well, Good Value) Peach tea like a banshee on that aggressive pre-op diet. I lost the exact amount I had to lose and had surgery during Fall Break, fully planning to be back at school on Monday. I would've been too if not for the infection I developed. What and where do you teach??

I teach at a small rural school near McAlester. The school in which I teach has about 500 students from Pre-K to 12th grade. I teach Pre-K. I absolutely love my job.  What grade do you teach?
