I know it is crazy to think that I have lost a whole kindergartener! I was just talking about that the other day. It is crazy!
I am not giving up. I am pressing on.. but you know how it is when you are working so hard for something and you are not getting the results you want..
Thanks for the support. I appreciate all your advice!

Hi Becky - You have gotten some great advise already, so I am going to add that I know exactly how you feel about having to lose so much weight pre-op. I think the amount of weight they ask you to lose is based on your BMI and where they want that BMI to be at the time of surgery. This is in order to make the surgery as safe as possible. When I started this process my BMI was 69 and I needed to get that down to about 60. I lost 52 lbs before being able to have surgery. I know what it feels like to hear that on your consultation appt; I quickly tried to go back in my mind to the last time I had lost 50 to 60 lbs and came up blank, I wanted to this so bad, but I truly could not envision it happening. What worked for me was putting the surgery and surgery date out of my mind and concentrate on the issue at hand, the pre-op diet. I was also on the aggressive plan, and I used that time to make some major changes in my diet and the way I used food. This is NOT easy, but it truly helped me getting mentally adjusted to post-op life much better than otherwise. The fact that you lost 43 lbs in less than two months is absolutely great, but keep in mind that it is normal for you body to slow down and adjust to what you are doing to it. The aggressive plan is what it is, aggressive, and it is a bit of a shock to your body. I would lose about 12 lbs every two weeks, and on a couple of occasion I lost zero in two weeks (yeah that was motivating!!), but I learned to understand how things work metabolically, and this is also good preparation for your post-op time, since your metabolism will be out of whack at times! My best advise would be, first of all, don't look at the big 100 lbs picture. You in essence only have 60 more to go. Secondly, set small goals for yourself (I do this still), such as 10 lbs goals, things will look much brighter that way. If you think you are stalled, change something, even little things like increasing your water by 8 to 16 oz a day, if you exercise 30 min a day, try to add 10 minutes to that, even if not consecutive. Most of all, stay positive, it will happen, (the WW surgeons are the best, and they know 110% what they are doing) and you will be so glad they asked you to lose the 100 lbs - Promise! - Please let me know if you have any questions - Anna
