Kmccrary Update
I thought I would give you guys the latest update. I passed the swallow test, it showed no leak. The CT, however, was another story. It appears that there are air bubbles that used to be my abscess in my abdomen and he thought there might be a faint leak or it may be a reflection from a staple. I went to see Dr. B yesterday and he decided to let me start drinking for a week so we can see if the abscess fills up again. He didn't seem to concerned about it because if it does fill up again he thinks they can drain it this time. To complicate things further, I started running a fever on the drive home and had to call my GP to see if I was going to have to go to the hospital again. Fortunately, he had me get some Tylenol and it broke my fever - whew!! So today I am slowly sipping my firs****er in over two months and praying that it won't hurt me further. Please keep me in your prayers and thanks for your encouragement.

No leak! That is great news and a real answer to prayer. I'm praying now that those bubbles will just go away. No affection is allowed! Enjoy your water. Pretty soon you'll advance to more. :)

I'm glad you passed your swallow test! Hopefully it was like Dr. B said and a reflection! I sure hope your fever doesn't come back. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this!

19 lbs lost before surgery

Thanks everyone. My fever has stayed relatively low today so I'm thinking it is probably just viral. I have only drank about 4 or 5 oz of water so far but it does taste pretty good. I'm still a little nauseaus so I have been pretty careful about drinking very much. I can drink other liquids but I didn't want to freak out my pouch so I'm starting with baby steps. I appreciate everyone's support.
