Wednesday Question for the Day

What day to day stuff keeps blowing you away?  Yesterday I hopped in the "back" of a little Dodge Dakota extended cab (the kind with the "jumpseats, not a crew cab).  As I was sitting back there it hit me that not too long ago I wouldn't have fit back there.  I just grinned and grinned like a crazy person.

I also can't believe I can shop in misses and pluses don't work for me any more.  I keep waiting for someone to come up and say "Oh no, the Plus sizes are over there...." but no one ever does.  No one even looks at me like I don't belong.

Pre ops-this is what you have to look forward to-being crammed into tiny trucks and being glad about it.

Well, I'm still in the early stages, but last weekend was pretty cool.  DH & I went to the movies and it was totally full.  It was the 1st time in a very long time that I wasn't uncomfortable & self-conscious about having a stranger sitting in the seat next to me.  I wasn't afraid that I was spilling over into her space.

I would have to say the things that just shock me is the way people look at me. It is not bad I guess kinda creepy, I never had issues with dating before the surgery but WOW your girl is busy now. My dogs use to drag me when we went walking ie running and they pull me. I can run with them well atleast for about 4 blocks and then I am light headed.

So much does everyday.

The fact my new jeans from last week are now loose enough I can pull them down without them being unbuttoned.

Taking a walk without being half dead within a half block or less.

The reaction of people who haven't seen me in 80lbs.

It has recently hit me that people meeting me for the first time are seeing me as a normal sized person.  They don't have any idea that I used to be morbidly obese.  It is kinda weird to know that I am being seen as a normal person (hey no wise cracks from the peanut gallery!)

I tuck my shirt in almost every day.  I wear belts.  I don't have to look for the largest queen size panty hose (hell, I am willing to wear hose- that's a biggie! Pre-op I was afraid to put a petroleum product between my thighs (panty hose you trashy brains!) for fear of a fire from all the friction!).  OK, must shut up I am too feisty today!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
