Yes Ma'am... I always have this experience after surgery ( I have had many of them in my life).

I would call the doc in the am and ask for something stronger for pain or they may just have you up the dosage of the one you have.

Honestly there will be some bad days ahead, the first month is not fun and that is why you start to question WTH was I thinking having this done. It is normal and just part of the journey, it gets better and better as time goes by! Also, get to all the support group meeting you can, they help especially in the beginning.

Did anybody have the experience of feeling really good the first couple days after surgery, and then when you got home the pain and soreness got worse?  That seems to be what I'm experiencing.  I just can't seem to get rid of this awful gas, and my belly seems to be way more tender than it was a couple days ago, and all the pain seems to be on my left side.  I've been putting a heating pad on my belly, and that is soothing, but it still hurts like hell!!  Also the liquid hydrocodone doesn't seem to do anything to relieve the pain.  Feeling a little discouraged...

Mel, I lost mine within the first week. I did a weigh in the next Wednesday and I lost the 7lbs I gained in the hospital plus an additional 10. So very quickly. Just drink, drink, drink, flush out!

I agree, I had my surgery earlier this month at Weightwise and I felt like the staff was very attentive and educational. Especially since several of the staff has had one of the WLS surgeries. Had a great experience. Good luck these first 2 weeks.

Welcome Miss Tizzie!!! I feel you. I had my surgery with Dr B the week prior. At first had zero issues with head hunger because the thought of putting something in my stomach scared me and the only TV I watched was DVR so I fast forward through the commercials :)

Hang in there you are almost through the liquid diet stage, just a couple more days, just think of the additional weight you are losing by being on the liquid diet instead of already eating food. Hope to see you in support group some time.

Thanks Russell!  That's what I was wanting to hear....I'm thinking that I want to do this over my Christmas break.  When I had my pani, I had it on Wed. before spring break and I went back to work in a week.  I seriously think I can be ready to go back to teaching in two weeks, if I don't lift.  I am the same way, I don't let it get me down.  I have a high pain tolerance, which is not always good.....sometimes there's something wrong and I don't get to it quick enough because I dismiss the pain.

If you are looking for a top notch surgeon, he is definitely one of the best. He is also very demanding and you better be prepared to tow any line he tells you to tow. It's all in your best interest, of course, but sometimes grating on the nerves. I wasn't able to use him in the long run because he won't operate on a diabetic that has an A1C level above 7.5 and, after almost a year of trying, we couldn't get mine to budge. So, if you are not a severe diabetic, you should breeze through his program in no time. He is a nice guy.

I am not familiar with him.
