Topic: I'm a post-op!
Hello everyone and thanks so very much for your well-wishes, prayers and support. I had surgery Tuesday and came home yesterday and all is well. For the pre-ops that might want more of a detailed report on my hospital stay, please read my blog.
It was really great to meet Leah in person at the hospital and get great information on what I'm going through as a fellow WLS-er. Thanks.

I'm not that far out, but always read these "graduate" posts because I may learn something.

Anyway, have you contacted Dr. B's office? Email or call your patient advocate and see if they have any ideas. I'll be watching for updates, because I just got off my diatetes meds and don't want to have to go back on.

Good luck?

Topic: OU football games
Gang,

I just thought of something. Everyone is always talking about their Non scale victories and how fitting into the plane seat is a huge victory, I have that one too.

But I was just thinking about football season and am soooo excited about the thought of not taking up so much room on the bench at the OU football games. I always felt so bad about how much room I would take up, feeling so squished on the bench.

That's it, just thinking.

Topic: Need Advice from those a year or more out of surgery
I've went past my weight loss goal by about 15 pounds and I'll be 2 years out in November.  I've had a few urinary tract infections since the surgery and I thought that's all it was.  Then yesterday when I had to do yet another urinalysis for a UTI, the results came back with very high levels of protein and glucose in my urine.  My doctor called me and told me she was really worried about me and thinks I could have diabetes.  I think that's CRAZY!  Preventing diabetes was the main reason I had the surgery in the first place.  I did a whole panel of blood work this morning but still haven't heard back about the results.  Has anyone had similar experiences?  Does it have anything to do with the VGS procedure and repercussions?  I'm really nervous and just baffled.  I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Thanks!
~Stacy

Topic: On the Loser's Bench!
You are now reading about someone who is on the Loser's Bench !!!!! Gang I am so excited to be on this side, all of the stress and anxiety is gone for the most part. I think I was stressing way too much. I had never had surgery before so all of the unknowns where giving me anxiety.

I am 1 week out and can't belive how good I feel. Of course I still have soreness in my stomach when I get up or down or lift or try to bend over. But other than that I am very pleased with my progress.

I had my first weigh in this morning. From the weigh-in from my home scale the night before surgery and today, I have lost 10 lbs. I can't believe it! I can see it in my face and feel it in my hands, my rings are a bit loose.
