I think I was more excited for him than I was when I had my surgery!!  Guess that just shows what you know after the sleeve works!  I am so excited for him and very happy to hear all is well.  Can't wait to see you all.  You are one small happy family :)

Congrats Melissa..good to hear he came out good. My insurance wont cover Walton..outta network. Why I am looking elsewhere. I did get all keyed up about him but no point looking back because I certainly cant pay outta pocket. I have heard both Keith and Gornichec accept my ins so why I am inquiring on them. However..I still have a ways out ...ugh. Plenty of time to pick a good one I guess!

Well, my son had his gastric sleeve and IVC filter surgery today, and we're sitting in his room waiting for him to come back from recovery.  Everything went great!  Dr. Walton is wonderful.  That's all I've got to say.

So relieved and excited for him to begin really living the rest of his life!!  We're so blessed.

Hi!  Just wanted to put my two cents in, for what it's worth.  I don't know anything firsthand about Dr. G, but I do know that he has done other surgeries besides bariatric surgeries (i.e. breast implants, plastic surgery, etc.), and I personally wanted a doc that only concentrated on bariatrics.

As far as Dr. Keith, I've heard good and bad things about him, as you usually do with every doc.  However, my husband, my son and I have all gone to Dr. Gregory Walton at Weightwise in Edmond, and I can tell you that I have NEVER heard a bad word spoken from ANYONE about him.  In our book, he's the best.   I'm a court reporter, and I'll just tell you that I did A LOT of research through my attorney friends and clients when I was deciding which doc to use when I started on this journey.  They ALL said Dr. Walton was the way to go.  Just my two cents...

Actually, as I sit here writing this, I am sitting in my son's hospital room at Summit Medical Center waiting for him to come back from his gastric sleeve and IVC filter surgery.  He's out of surgery and in recovery.  Everything went great!

Good luck!

Melissa

I had Dr Keith for my RNY and he was great! The appointments beforehand helped prepare me for what was to come and the follow up has been great as well.

As far as Dr Gornichec, a co-worker of mine went to him for her RNY a couple of months before I had mine w/Dr Keith. She ended up with a bunch of problems and they had to re-do the surgery. Not only this but she was having problems with her protein and couldn't keep it down no matter what. Dr Gornichec's office said she just didn't want to do the protein and thought she was just being difficult so they dumped her as a patient. Hung her out to dry without any help. It was through my experience and nutritionist that we figured out she is lactose intolerant. Now she is doing fine with soy protein and getting healthy again.

I would say Dr. Keith all the way!!!

Not many choices in West Tulsa but  a lot of people use the Y in downtown.

Thanks Molly..
I'm not sure the exact area but I will probably be about 10 minutes from Down town.. more west I think. I'm moving in a couple weeks and not sure exactly where they are putting me up yet.  I will look into that gym and see what they offer in the area.  I appreciate your suggestion!

Add me to the bandwagon :)   Dr. B is an amazing surgeon and a great doctor.  Straight forward and easy to talk with.
