So I have my good days and bad days with water. It feels so heavy probably every second day. Yesterday I took everything in me to get in 20ozs. I know thats bad. Today I am having no trouble and have had about 32 ozs in,and it,s not even luch time. I have also tried crystal light, but it hurts. I have even diluted it. Ican't do flavoured water either. What else can I drink??? I have no trouble at all eating. SO far I have tried yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce, loosely mashed potatoes and oatmeal. I don't want to get dehydrated. I have also tried drinking the water at different temperatures. Makes no difference. Is V-8 ok????

Hi BJ I don't think V8 counts as water, only clear liquids or decaf coffee and tea. I may be wrong. Popsicles are a good way to ge****er in as well. I am wondering if you are drinking too fast(gulping), that always hurt me at first. Hope things get better

Hi Bobbie;  V8 is a no.  I think there is carbs in there that are high, less alone that gas that you will have.  I think V8 will be for much later. Just sip, sip, sip your water.  I can't do 62 oz yet. They said I could start on my soft, mushy food today.  So I took a tsp of apple sauce which  I slurped in about 1/3 and quit.  i going to start it tomorrow. Just keep up the sipping and try deluted juices instead.

Joyce is right - but this early out ANYY liquids you get a re a good thing.  I do not like flavoured water or hardly any Crystal Lite flavours either... I just keep sipping at my plain old bottle of water all day long!  SIP SIP SIP And yes, some days are better then other.  Just sip - gulping or too big of a swig may hurt - so tkae it easy and follow your body's cues.

Water hurt me and still does.  I found at first I could only tolerate water if it was Frozen.  and then I could only tolerate it if it was frozen and had a lemon in it.  Now it seems to hurt if its too cold.  It goes down better at room temp, but I can still feel it.  If you haven't already, I would try different temps of water and see if one of them helps.  I'm 5 months out and water is still iffy with me.

I found if I diluted orange juice 1/2 and 1/2 or apple juice 1/2 and 1/2 was good for me, gave me a little flavour and not overboard.  In our Barix Binder it says any flavour of 100% juice (not ****tail) is fine just drink it at 50%.

Best wishes

Wow Bobbie Jo - this sucks.  I'm sorry you're having problems with the liquids.... I found that I really noticed the different tastes of the water.  The tap water in Utica that I was sipping was gross after about one day - a weird metal flavour or something.  I switched to Evian water and that was a million times better.  Maybe try some different bottled waters to see if any of them taste better to you? Can you elaborate on what exactly goes wrong when you take the water in?  Does it make you gag?  (smell? taste?)  does it hurt? The popsicles are good idea that someone already mentioned. How about chicken broth?  (Not the packaged stuff - home made stuff)  Can you take that in? And what about diluted juices - cranberry, apple, grape?  Any of those working for you? Good luck with this!!  Hope it turns around for you! Cheers, Marie

Hi Marie The taste and smell of water are fine,it's just really heavy feeling in my pouch. A sharp pain that only lasts for seconds. I have tried the water at all different temperatures. It's kinda a hit or miss thing. It's not all the time. I have never liked any juice,so I haven't tried that. Guess I should. Chicken broth goes down well also,so does all my food.  bj
