I still have issues with cold water.  I feel very boated and full.  It takes forever to drink.  If it is room temperature, I can chug a bottle with no problems.

Hi Bobbie Jo, I have the same problem. I have found a few posts here and there from others with the same problem as well. It doesn't matter what temp I drink it at or how slow I drink it, it makes my pouch hurt and my throat gurgle. Sometimes makes me nauseous. I asked my surgeon about it but he said it was psychological but I don't think so. I didn't tell him, but I will tomorrow, tha****er was always the drink of choice for me before surgery. I never drank pop, juice, coffee, etc, jus****er. Now I have a very hard time getting in the required water, no matter how hard I try. I do get in protein shakes and sometimes a bit of warm tea, and I have soups, eat popsicles, but plain water and even water with Crystal Light just plain hurt. Not sure why. Hugs, Ellie

Hi Bobbie jo I have the same issue with water.  I don't dump on sugar so I started drinking gatorade rain with  1/2 water and 1/2 gatorade but this is drinking calories.  180 per 710ml bottle so I get 1420ml of liquid in for 180 cal.  I have started to slow down because of the calorie content.  I try to do bottled water with slices of cucumber in it.  Very refreshing. Good Luck wish I had more of an answer for you. Liz

Wow I thought I was the only one going through this! That is why I never posted! LOL I too can't drink water, I get in a few sips a day but that is about it! I know bad but I do get in tons of milk, apple juice and V-8. I was never told that I couldn't drink V-8 so I ahve been drinking that since about a week out!  Andrea

Andrea you are doing so goooooooooooooooooooood..  WTG!  I love your avatar. so cute.  The Barix binder says we could have any 100% juice diluted during the liquid stage that's why no one said you couldn't have it  LOL.  It's good for us with lots of vitamins in it.  The only thing I couldn't tolerate was protein powder mixed with V8, I gagged on that but otherwise I love V8.   Tip to everyone, there is a Allens tetra pak "Allens 10 vegetable ****tail"  no sugar added that tastes just like V8 and usually only $0.97 at Giant Tiger, Walmart . ingredients vegetable juices from concentrate (water, tomato paste, concetrated celery, carrot, cucumber, beet, green pepper, oinion, lettuce, spinach, watercress, juices,) salt, conctrated lemon juice, ascorbic acid (vitamin c), natural flavour.  has 50 calories to 1 cup,  protein 2, yummy, in fact I like it better than v8  - it helps to get those vitamins in from vegetables when we don't eat as many of them anymore.

V8 is allowed on the Humber River diet plan for RnY, right from the full fluid phase. So those of you drinking it, you're not doing anything wrong. Hugs, Ellie
