Interesting re: Plastic Surgery

At the TWH orientation tonight the nurse emphasized that most times OHIP does not cover for plastic surgery but that the hospital was currently trying to convince the ministry that it is something that is necessary and in the future there is a possibility that this could happen!!

hmm..hopefully they'll come through, but i highly doubt it. I dont think this is the time that the govt will start adding things to what they'll pay for.

They pay for this surgery to save our lives.  And we should be in a position that it is to save our lives.  This isn't to look good in a bathing suit you know lol.
Plastics will be covered if needed.  Not just cause we still want that bathing suit to look good.  I do not believe in this economy they will cover plastics, not implants, tucks, or arms.  They will cover when it's at a point you can't function.  Rashs, sores, and chronic pain.  Not just cause. 
I suggest anyone who thinks it will be covered to still save up.  And, per chance I'm fibbing, then you get a great cruise to show off your body.. but don't hold your breath k?

With our health care system dollars stretched to the limit I doubt this will ever happen. They don't even want us to claim it on our taxes anymore to give us a little break.

I didn't think so either but hey one can always hope?  I think she was referencing the psychological impact of it all....

As for me - I've already got a plastics fund that I add to every 2 weeks when we get paid!  It will be my big present to myself when the weight is gone!
