Morning everyone. I'm 3 weeks post op and on the soft stage. I started tracking on My Fitness Pal and was wondering what is the general rule for prot/carb/calorie intake per day. I eat so little that I don't want my body to go in starvation mode and stop loosing weight. I aim for 60/80 prot per day...

Hi Julie,  I was wondering the same thing!  Some days I feel like eating and others it is all I can do to get in the minimum protein, liquids, and vitamins.  Also try to get in something with fibre to keep me regular.  Lately I love canned peaches for some reason, especially with cottage cheese.  I aim for at least 60 grams of protein too, usually ends up being around 80g.  I try to get in 30g protein first thing in the morning so it is out of the way - usually a protein shake.  That gives me a little more flexibility the rest of the day.

You're doing so good!  Keep it up. My problem is that I can't consume a lot at each meal so it's a challenge to meet or surpass the minimum. And since I'm sipping all day long,  I' m never hungry for a snack lol. Who would have though!  So weird. Thank god for protein powders...

I have not been hungry for snacks either lately and usually just have some liquids instead.  I got the green light from my centre today to use citrical instead of opurity.  So sick of that orange taste, ugh, good to have another options.  She said to just use the splitter to cut them down to tolerable size.

Someone told me today that this early out we have to concentrate only on protein and fluid intake. Meet the minimun in both. A little trick: eat protein for meals and carbs like veggie/fruit/cracker/ cheese for snack.  It helps to balance a bit. Further out, we could balance more our menus.

some people will experience reactive hypoglycemia if they only have a carb for a snack.  Make sure if you have a fruit, you have some cheese or other protein with it to avoid that problem.

For us guelph folks, in the third week, we would have 40 g of protein as a goal.  I found it wasn't too tough to get there by eating pudding made with milk, drinking some milk and getting in some yogurt or soup(also made with milk)
