Hello Everyone,

I have an appointment with the Internist Dr Agarwal on Tuesday September 30. I am a bit nervous and just wondering if anyone else has seen him and if so what is he like? I am also wondering why some people need to see the internist and some don't?  Any knowledge on the subject would be greatly appreciated

I met with him for about 10 minutes after my surgery, seemed like a nice guy. Told me to stop taking BP meds. That was about it. :P

I seen him for a few minutes after getting out of surgery, seemed like a nice person.  I was told since I didn't have any prior medical issues I didn't need to see him.

I have seen him 3 times. Twice in his office and once in the hospital after surgery.  I just saw him last week.  He is very nice and I believe a thorough doctor.  Do NOT be late for your appointment, he will cancel the appointment.  If for any reason you think you might be late, call his office right away and explain the situation.  He has a picture in his office of him receiving a diploma from Mother Theresa, she looks so incredibly tiny.  I had high BP, am diabetic and am a cancer survivor so that is probably why I was sent to see him.

I didn't have to see him but it sounds like I could after surgery.  I have severe asthma and interstitial cystitis  (bladder problem causing bleeding ) but i guess they weren't  the type of problems that sent me to him! Good luck with your appointment!

I had to visit Dr Agarwal early in my process because of my age (55). As I understand it anyone that has any medicial problems or is of a older age has to see him before surgery.  He is a very nice man. He will ask you all question about your health. I was only there for 15 min, because I have no meds.

With all honesty I did not like him. He was pushy, wouldnt let me explain anything, I sat there in front of him while he read his lap top, I found him not to have great bed side manner after surgery, If I ever have to see another internist it will not be him.

I had heard that a lot of people didn't like him so I was a bit nervous before the appointment. But he was fine, just a little quiet, although we did chat a bit about him receiving his degree from Mother Teresa.

Thanks Everyone, I met with him today. I found him a little hard to understand..and had to ask him to repeat a few things...BUT other than that I found him a lovely man. He was on time and friendly.  However I left and  I am not sure what he  decided in regards to my surgery and I never asked....I was in his office for maybe 30 minutes...he did a medical history ( which the nurse had already done) , reviewed all my blood work and tests, and checked my lungs,  felt my stomach ,  took my blood pressure. We talked about his picture  with Mother Theresa....I think that is pretty amazing! ...then I had to walk up and down the hall three times with something on my finger....not sure if it was measuring my oxygen or my heart rate but whatever it was the receptionist said it looked good..when I left he wished me well....SO now what? lol

Hmmm, I saw him, and he told me he was giving me the go ahead for surgery at the end of my appointment. I was a little surprised when I had my post op diet class, and I actually got a one page report from his office.
