Same here. Bare Essentials is great! Foundation gives me raised red bumps and itchy skin. Haven't ever found one that didn't. So, I just stuck with mascara and occasional blush. lipstick, and eyeshadow. Usually, I don't use any of it. But for those special occasions, bare essentials has been a real blessing. I found mine in a salon/cosmetic shop in Los Angeles. Pricey but it never goes bad and has lasted me for forever now. Otherwise, I buy the little free gift things (Estee Lauder). I get them at the Woodburn stores at the cosmetic shop. I use so little makeup that these are perfect for me. They usually run about $10.00. tee

Good morning, Peg! I very seldom wear makeup anymore. I started to wear makeup when I was about 16, though my Sicilian father was worried I would "end up in the gutter". LOL I had a heck of a time getting him to let me shave my legs! I drink both bottled and tap water. I have found that the tap water here is much better than the water we drank in California. Geez, bread was 25 cents, as was gasoline. I still complain about the price of everything, which proves that I am becoming an old lady! Have a good one! Joy

Hi Peg! I'm so glad it warmed up today. Sorry I had to take rain to get a little warmer air, but that's Oregon in the winter! 1. I wear foundation, blush and lipstick every day. I'm only willing to do eye make-up if there's a compelling reason. I don't need anything big - actually going into my kids school to pick them up will do. I'm just too lazy to have to take it off a night, and if I don't I look like heck when I wake up! 2. As a pre-op I never got bottled water. As a post-op my car and house are littered with them! I don't believe there's a difference at all and often re-fill it with tap water. I have found that by having a case in my car, and a case in my fridge, water is always close at hand, and I am much more apt to keep my daily intake above 64 oz. The convenience makes all the difference! Sometimes I will be sitting at a red light and the thought will cross my mind that I haven't really drunk much water yet. I just reach back and open one, and by the time I get to my next stop I am on my way. I also find buying the 24 oz. bottles instead of the 12 oz. gets more water in me. With the availablility my kids are always drinking them too. When we visited my in-laws it was very noticed that we were drinking bottled water (they are depression era and think bottled water is the most wasteful thing ever). It bothered me that they couldn't put it together with my new healthy weight and lifestyle. It's worth every penny wasted, because it is a huge part of success post-op. 3. I remember that a burger, fries and coke at McDonalds cost 60 cents. The number probably stuck in my mind because me and my best friend Lisa were always trying to come up with it, so we could ride our bikes up and have lunch. When I was in my early twenties and living lean, filling up the gas tank wasn't something I could do often. I remember always putting five bucks in. It would practically get me through the week! Well, it's Wednesday now and I'm at home sick on my vacation with my sick family....quite bummed because it's not going to be much fun working up to Christmas like this... 1) Makeup: Yes, I wear it all and have worn it since I was about 12. My mom would let me wear foundation and blush but no eye makeup at that time. I would sneak it on at school though. Then when I was 14 I was allowed to wear the eye makeup. I don't know if I could cope without wearing my makeup!!! 2) I don't buy bottled water usually but won't drink plain tap water. I have filtered water at home. 3) Boy, you know it's funny...when I got out on my own in the 80's I remember so many things that cost MORE then than they do now. Isn't that funny? But most of that was talking about electronics, but there are also some other things that were grocery related that cost more then. One of those things is Ramen noodles. I think they were cheap then - something like 8 for a buck on sale, but now you can get a whole case of 24 for under $2.00. Some things that were cheaper.....hmmmm.... Well, I think I remember milk being around a buck a gallon. Now it's generally about $3.00 a gallon. Cable with movie channels was around $14-15 a month. Gas was under a buck a gallon. My first apartment (1 br) was $200 a month. Unheard of today. Heck, our first home we bought here in 95 was a "high" $89,000. That same home today would sell for about $265,000. Fun questions....even if I am answering them 2 days late! Dina
