Gastroparesis

I am wondering if anyone here had been diagnosed with gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying) and been allowed to have a gastric bypass?

I'm not sure if this helps but I am on medicine which causes gastroperesis as a side effect.  I will be on the medicine post-surgery as well, although I may be able to give it up down the road depending on how things go.  I specifically asked the surgeon whether using this medication and its impact on my stomach would affect the RNY surgery and was told "no" and they signed off on everything.

That said, it may depend on what is causing the gastroparesis. If you haven't been referred for surgery yet, I would let this stop you from applying. The only person who can really tell you whether it is a deal breaker is the clinic/surgeon through the assessment process.
