****Sunday Roll Call****

Good morning Trish and PA,

Trish, I really hope you get some relief from your ear soon!  I'll be thinking of you!!

The snow has started here in Boston, but so far just flurries.  They are expecting upwards of 9 1/2 inches though.  We have been getting clobbered this winter!  It just doesn't seem to want to stop!!

Today has me doing the same as yesterday:  I am busy preparing my applications.  Yes, that is right, applications.  After a lot of thinking and soul searching and researching, I have decided to apply to graduate school for Social Work.  The applications are due very soon so I am busy getting them ready.  Please wish me good luck!!!

Aside from that and the endless job search, things are going well here in Boston and in my new home with Adam (and the dogs, Logan and Lara).  I hope you all are doing well too -- I miss you all very much!!  And whoever was at Liz's cooking class/support group yesterday, I hope you had a wonderful time -- I was definitely thinking of you all from Boston and wishing I could have been there!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Miss you all,
Lisa :)

Lisa,
How neat is this?  I have a Masters in Social Work.  I went to Temple Univ. in Philly and graduated in 2005.  If you have any questions or are just curious, feel free to PM me.  I am thrilled I got my MSW, and I am also Licensed in PA and Michigan.  I may someday get the Clinical work done for the LCSW, but right now, that is a little over the top for me schedule wise.

Where you thinking of studying?

Hi Trish!

You know, I thought you had a Masters in Social Work, but I wasn't 100% sure.  How did you like Temple's program?  There are only three schools in the Boston-area that have MSW programs and I am applying to all three -- Simmons, Boston College, and Boston University.  I really hope that I get accepted to one or more of the three programs.  Thank you so much for your offer to answer any questions for me.  I'm sure I will have a bunch of questions down the line, so I really appreciate that very much!

Lisa :)

Good for you, Lisa.  I hope you get the college of your first choice.  The only reason I chose Temple was its convenience and its state affiliated status.  It was a good program, but man, it was intense, since I was going part time and working full time.  I also was coming from an education background, so I had a lot to learn, but not as much as I originally thought.

It's funny, since I have the MSW, I am more interested in law now.  I almost wish I could win the lottery, and study law for the fun of it.

You will do great.

Hugs,
Trish

LIsa I feel like a proud mother. You will do so well in social work and you will have a wide arena of opportunities to help people. If you decide to use your law background, you can make a difference in that way as well. I am excited for you. If you need any kind of help, references etc please let me know.

We miss you too. I am excited for you

Nicole, you are TOO sweet!  I absolutely adored what you wrote in your post and I am so happy you feel like a proud mother ;)  Thank you so much for your confidence in me and my decision to pursue social work.  I am really happy and excited with this decision and I hope that I will get accepted to one or more of the programs I am applying to.  Also, thank you SO much for offering to help in any way (references, etc) -- I can't tell you how much I appreciate that -- and for being so excited for me :)

Hope you enjoyed your SF birthday cake on Saturday at Liz's house -- wish I could have been there.  I miss you and everyone a whole bunch!

Good morning PA family! No snow here in Pittsburgh! This morning I'm going to church with my Mom and sister then to fashion bug for their huge sale today! 75% off all clearence! I'm not sure what I'm going to buy though! Haha I'm only a week out from surgery but I'm pretty good with a sewing machine so I could always make a long sleeved shirt to a short one. But after fashion bug, off to Walmart for a mini food processor or magic bullet because I start purees tomorrow. I also need to find some yogurt that's not full of sugar. I hear blue bunny makes a carb-smart strawberry. After Walmart, maybe starbucks to see how a skinny latte sits. I'm practically DYING for one!
I've gotta take my car to the dealership tomorrow because something died in my vent system...seriously...and they have to tear apart the dash to get it out! Eww...
Happy March 1st!!! Spring will be here soon!!!

Yogurts....

Dannon LIte and Fit does not have any added sugar

Greek yogurt such as Chobani, Oikos, Fage as long as you get the unflavored versions have no added sugar.  However plain they taste like sour cream so you have to add stuff to it - splenda and sf jam or splenda and fruit...some of have used a small amount of sf jello crystals or a little bit of your favorite crystal lite powder.  The greek yogurts are higher in protein (like 16ish gms per 6 ounce container as opposed to the 5-7gm in a 6 ounce container of dannon lite and fit)

Good luck!

Oh - and make sure you buy clothes off the clearance rack smaller than what you need - you'll be shrinking out of them FAST

Good Morning PA!

I am home today, up early to do some tidying up..had a bit of insomnia last night.  The "Dish" guy has been here for about a 1/2 hour, I am changing from cable to satellite.

Day #2 of my clear liquid diet and I am just now starting to get a slight headache.  So far so good but I imagine today will be the day I start getting cranky LOL.  I have lots of house cleaning and organizing to do before my surgery on Thursday.  Gawsh I cant believe how far I have let both myself and my house go...as i put on weight over the past years it seems i let everything pile up.  Between being so tired from sleep apnea and the obesity, hell i didnt do a damn thing.  SO thats one of my goals, with more energy from wieght loss I plan to get organized and KEEP it that way.

I have the day off of work tomorrow also and have an appointment with my PCP to do my pre op physical and surgical clearance.  So far it looks like good sailing thru to THursday.  If i can stick on the all liquid diet i will be a-ok

hope everyone has a great remainder of the weekend.

Good Morning all,
Well today My oldest turns 4 and he is so happy to be having his Wall-E party.  Since I have no family here, it will be just us and my husbands family.  I was up most of the night cleaning and getting stuff together.  Only thing left is getting balloons.  Some where between the party and tomorrow I need to do laundry.  I have school tomorrow, there is just never enough hours in a day. Thats about it for my day besides I would love to find time to study. I hope everyone has a great day.
