I had a OMG moment
OMG is right! Want to add to that feeling?
Go pick up 5 bags of flour from the grocery store and carry them around with you for a little while. That's what you were lugging around with you!!
Pam
***Edited*** Don't actually pick them up if you are on lifting restrictions, lol!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Jennifer,
That's AWESOME! Congratulations!
So what are you nervous about? If you're worried that you'll sabotage yourself, just make sure you're keeping a good food log (I track protein, fat, and cals in mine... the cals more just informational.) Plan your food intake around meeting your goals (your protein range, and keeping within your fat intake range). Given that you can't eat more than a 1/2 cup at a meal, with VERY little planning you'll find it easy to stay in the ranges.
And... moving to pureed doesn't mean you can't have a protein shake (or whatever you've been having up until now)... just means you can ADD puree to the mix of things you're eating. I find that having a protein shake in the morning sets me up for good habits the rest of the day. I have my Activia Light yogurt (or plain yogurt i've mixed with all-fruit sugar-free preserves) as one snack, a Hunt's SF pudding as another snack, then 2 pureed meals.
If you're nervous about getting enough protein with the pureed food, keep in mind that you can add protein easily to many things. For example, I made meatballs (pureed 3 of them - that's 2 meals) added FF ricotta cheese to up the protein. Yum! Found a wonderful lowfat chicken sausage... pureed that, stirred in plain greek yogurt (DOUBLE yum!). Greek yogurt added to just about anything makes it creamier, adds no fat, and really ups the protein count.
So don't worry too much! Experiment and you'll find lots of great options to meet your goals.

Thanks. I am nervous about the food in general. I just don't want to get sick. I really don't like that feeling. I just have 3 oz of a blueberry fat free yogart and a scoop of vanilla protein powder into the full 6 oz and stirred it up really well and divided it into two 3 oz tupperware cups. It was yummy. I am very satisfied right now and will probably eat some refried bean or maybe some cream soup late on when the boys come home from day care.
But I am very excited. Thanks for the information.

I certainly understand that fear - i HATE getting nauseous or throwing up.
Just as a suggestion... proceed slowly. Add things in a little at a time, while maintaining the rest of your eating habits the way they've worked for you for the past couple of weeks.
I've also heard that some people don't tolerate eggs well, while others have no problem. One of my faves on pureed was to LIGHTLY poach an egg and melt a slice of FF american cheese on top. I was lucky that I tolerate eggs well. (I've now started subbing egg beaters to keep within fat goals on some days, but having an egg now and then isn't a bad thing.) Scrambled eggs just need to get mashed with a fork to "puree" them.
One of my favorite things in the last week has been the Smart Chili (vegetarian chili - prepackaged), pureed in the blender and mixed with a little greek yogurt. Spicy and incredibly good.
Enjoy!

Congratulations on your first big WOW moment!! Awesome, isn't it?
Don't be nervous - its all trial and error and sometimes you may 'err' but it will pass and chances are without any damage to you or your pouch - take it slow - even on pureed/soft stage eat very slowly - put your spoon down between bites and use a timer or something to give yourself a minute or two between bites. The hardest part for me was eating cold food for a while but eventually that passes as well.
You're going to do great!! Follow doctor's orders and you'll be fine.
