surgery on as scheduled!!
thank you for the kind words. I cry when thinking about the dying part sometimes, but I cry when thinking about the stuff I'll be able to do...those are happy tears though. you have no idea, well you probably do actually, how great it would be to get off my meds and to move again. I'm not even 30 yrs old and my life has been on hold for years now. just dropping this weight on the preop liquid diet has given me more hope and motivation. I am getting less nervous and more excited. I can't wait to start a new life. by the time I do hit 30, about a year and a half now, I'll be a new person physically...hopefully!
I'm so happy for you that you're doing this now - before you're 30. I wi**** had been available to me when I was that age but it wasn't. Is this your first major surgery? Is that what is making you so nervous? That's understandable - but remember you are in the hands of professionals who do this day in and day out - any surgery has its risks, but the healthier you are going in the better off you'll be going through it and recovering.
I was nervous but thoughts of dying never crossed my mind, so I guess I was lucky in that regard - thoughts of dying happened for me when I saw a picture of myself on my 50th birthday and realized how huge I had become (denial is a wonderful thing) and how much it was affecting my health and my life and if I didn't do something soon I would never make it to my next birthday.
You're going to do great - you're going to feel great - you're going to start doing things you only imagined or hoped you could do when you see other people do it.
So keep happy, positive thoughts in your mind and know you're doing this for your health and well being and most importantly for your future.

yeah...this is my first major surgery. closest thing to major surgery for me was getting wisdom teeth removed lol.
I am doing better with the nervousness though so that's a plus.
I'm being as positive as possible and doing so well on the liquid diet is really helping that. Makes me believe I can do this.

You CAN do this - and you WILL do it! Believe me I never thought in a million years that I could lose close to 170 pounds but I've done just that, and now I am really motivated to lose the full 200 lbs that I had originally set for myself - its harder now, but I don't think its impossible. Don't get me wrong, if I never lose another pound I'll be forever happy, but once you see the weight coming off and know its possible you'll amaze yourself!
You'll have stalls along the way - you'll get frustrated as hell and be on here asking 'Why' - we all have and still do - its a normal part of the process. The key is to follow doctor's orders - work your tool - make sure you take your vitamins and get your proteins and water in (proteins will be difficult at first and you won't get them all in for a couple of months) but walking, sipping and following dr's orders will get you where you want to be.
