Weird Inquiry...

Okay I know I am not just imagining this. I always have had super straight hair with a little bit of natural curl in it. BUT after my WLS I lost a ton of hair as I am sure most of us have but it all came back in a weird texture. Is that even possible?? I mean its crinkly and just a mess. YUCK.. Thank god for my ceramic iron or I would look like I have a nest on my head. lol..

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

Well, all I can say is that my hair came back in a different texture , too.  I changed cnditioners and things are more manageable.

I know that many chemo patients have changed hair, too.....a good friend now has curly hair post chemo.

My hair was always stick straight, from the time I was a kid - my mother used to give me those horrible Tony home perms in hopes of me having curly locks - always just came out pure frizz... Now my hair is wavy and all weird - came back in nice and healthy and full, but really strange - flips this way and that, especially my bangs! But hey, not complaining - at least it all came back!

Totally normal! It's the hormonal changes along with everything else. They say that a women's hair changes several times during her life (based on her having 2 kids), puberty, pregnancy, menopause etc.

Mine is finally back to normal - well somewhat normal! lol It is less frizzy now - I did cut it all off after surgery because I was loosing so much of it - now it has a total mind of it's own!

Hair has been a BIG issue for me through this whole process.  I've always had very fine hair and after surgery I lost a TON of it.... unfortunately for me not a lot of it came back but what did was even finer and thinner then before... almost like the type of baby fine hair on little girls.  It's been a total struggle for me to not let the severe hair loss effect me... I guess I should be thankful I have what I have, after all I'm 3.5 years post-op... if it hasn't come back by now, it's never gonna.  But yes, the texture of the hair that I have now is definitely different.

when my hair came back in, it came in curly and a much coarser texture, I use a lot of conditioner and i use  a frizz consdtioner that seems to help a lot

Yup...the texture changes!

Mine was always very very fine to begin with...and now I swear it is even more so if that's possible!

I have the same issue... top part stick straight... under side... omg what a mess... I use redkin Smooth Down shampoo and in that same line something called Hair butter- it is a very thick condisioner... for the first time since before surgery my hair is feeling normal... I got them at Ulta... they are brown bottles... and worth every penny!

forgot to mention  - when my hair gets really dry - When I am done with the shower I slather on coconut oil (it is a solid - like crisco) wrap your head in a towel and go to bed next morning shampoo twice and your hair and scalp are all hydrated! I always do this on a friday night when I am doing to be home for the weekend - sometimes it takes 2 showers to get it all out. But it works great!! I slather it all over my body too - before I Dry off - then pat dry, put on your not-your-best jammies (I do longjohns) and go to bed - your skin will thank you!!!

Oh - I got it in the organic section at wegmans - it comes in a little plastic tub - it is actually with the cooking oils.
