I did an hour on my Elliptical this morning and am thinking of taking the whole weekend off from exercising. GASP I know what a concept since I have not taken one day off since day one. I am totally going to VEG on my sofa this weekend!! Hope everybody has a good day.

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

Oooh Nicole, isn't boxing FUN???  I love it!

Went out this morning for an invigorating walk/run.  As I was doing 2 miles at 4mph avg on the treadmill at the hotel, I was trying to emulate that on the path.  Can't quite figure out a route that will get me the full 2 miles "gracefully" though... sigh... so I ended up a little short today.  And I'm not as good a judge of pace as I am on the treadmill, but it was definitely a good walk/run with intensity.

I have a bunch of other things awaiting me aroudn the house and around town today.  Oh joy.

I'm trying to figure out if i can afford to join Doylestown Fitness (anyone a member? how is it?)... They have Zumba classes and I'd love to do one!  Or Cornerstone (don't know how much they cost).  With hubby being out of work as of next week, i'm not too hopeful, though...

Karen,

I go to the Lab in Warrington...formerly known as the Health and Wellness Center. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that gym....but I don't love the price.....$72 a month. But for me the gym is important and I knew if I did not love it, I would not go. I love the fact that it has all different types of people, all ages, all fitness levels and the trainers are great. If you join, put me down as a referral please!!

Now that I said all that, I am not going to the gym today...it is a cleaning and laundry day for me..does cleaning count as exercise??

I am so happy to hear you are taking a couple of days off and giving your body a rest!! Don't worry - we won't let you be a slouch and not get back on that machine first thing Monday morning, but I do believe you and your body have earned and deserve a break! I'm sure you'll be busy enough doing weekend stuff as it is.

I am going to Curves after work tonight - I did ride my recumbant bike last night for 35 hard minutes - sweat rings down to my - well, you really don't need that graphic of an image! LOL!! Anyway, Curves and then a walk with the dog. Tomorrow morning is a major grocery store event that will take at least an hour if not longer, then hauling it all in and putting it all away. Maybe it'll be nice enough to get a ride in on my regular bike tomorrow.

Sunday will be a no exercise day for me - we're having a big family party for my husbands side at our development clubhouse to celebrate all the birthdays at once - hubby had 5 daughers that produced 25 grandchildren and we're up to 13 great-grandchildren - there is just no way to keep track of all those birthdays thru-out the year (heck, I have a tough time with names at this point!!) - so we're having a big party with a pollyanna gift exchange for everyone from the grandchildren on up, and the little ones will get gifts from us - it'll be a very busy, hectic (noisy) day.

Hi Shilpa,
I am going to try to check in here regularly and make myself accountable.  In addition to piddle runs with Utley, my psycho-puppy, I took him for a 20 minute walk, and then this evening, I did a 20 minute solid swim.

The hospital I work at is having several contests about weight loss and exercise.  I am thinking of entering the walking one, since I have the dog to help me.

See you Saturday, after work.

Trish

Trish,
I am so glad that you'll be posting here. I really and firmly believe that working the tool our surgeon gave us and incorporating life long excercising habits will keep us from going back to our former selves. I have personally come too far to go back to my original weight of 255lbs!! So I think that working out should be right there with brushing your teeth everyday. Please post this tread along with your daily roll call. I have been trying to keep up but sometimes get too busy especially on weekends. I think Utley will be your lifesaver you know what they say people who own dogs live longer and healthier lives. I truly believe that. Take Care:)
