Morning All!

Pam - my dad went through that phase when he first retired.  We called it his "Donna Reed Period"... nearly drove my mom nuts.  The funniest I think was when he was trying to make a pie crust and couldn't figure out why it would get to the right consistency... after all, he had kneaded it for a long time!

Liz - I've forbidden Eddie to paint... just does NOT have the patience for things like TAPING BORDERS (which drives me buggers... all those "oopses" onto the ceiling.  Sigh.  Good luck with that!

Today will be an odd one for me, I'm afraid.  It's Eddie's last day at work, and he's worked there for 27 years.  It's bound to be a rocky day emotionally.  I've asked him to let me know and if they walk him out of there early, I'll be leaving my work here to meet him for lunch and to spend the afternoon.  I know this will be the best thing for all of us, but especially him, in the long run, but it's a scary path and he's really been second-guessing himself on everything lately.  Send good thoughts, please!

Work has been frustrating the last couple of days... ******g match between purchasing and physical plant and my group has been caught in the crossfire.  All my programmers are supposed to be getting new desks, which were supposed to be delivered yesterday... we found out at noon the day before that no provision had been made for getting rid of all the OLD furniture, and plant was refusing to do it because it was asset tagged.  After about 10 back-and-forths, I got them to take the stuff away, but no one had ordered carpets to be cleaned (not even vacuumed) before the new stuff got here, etc.  What was supposed to be a one-day downtime (for the entire programming and web staff) just turned into a 2-day downtime because the vendor didn't get everything together yesterday.  Yikes!  I had 4 people (other than me) camped in my office on laptops yesterday trying to work to put out fires...  Hopefully it will get better, but we're all off tomorrow for 4th of July, so some of it will inevitably carry over to next week.

I'm hoping this will be a relatively placid weekend... as little drama as possible!

Karen it must be a man thing - Chris is the same way. He doens't believe in tarps, tape or touchups! lol OR moving furniture out of the room.... I know this is going to turn into a "Me" project quickly! That's ok I like to paint, just hate the prep. He can move all the furniture though - he loves to re-arrange.

Good luck with Eddie's last day today! We'll be thinking about you all today!

Brian and his OCD are very good about things like that...granted he doesn't tape...but he is damn near perfect in cutting edges and like that with a paint brush....I can send him over if Chris gets outta hand!

Hi all - I have been so busy as of late, that I have notbeen able topost on here - Shipped oldest kid to overnightcamp on Tuesday = he will be gone for 8 weeks.  I miss him already - but am quite used toit as this is his 6th summer, The organizer was back yesterday for a 3.5 hour frenzy on my dining room - It was amazing to comedown this morning and see thetops to all the horizontal surfaces. It does not look like my house.  (I like it better this way!)  Today has me getting my mani-pedi for my trip to Israel - I still can't believe I am leaving in 4 days!

I went to GNC last night and got two new kids of protein bars - I had a taste test there last night with a friend of mine who was one of my eating buddies and we laughed becuase here I was, "Eating" with her - very entertaining! :)  I am feeling confident about the food in the Middle East - they have lots of chicken, lamb and veggies - I am sure I will be fine!  I was even told that it was ok to eat soem Hummus - Although, that makes me a little nervous.  I am hoping that I will be sooooo amazed by being there, that the food wont be an issue.  I am bringing tons of stuff and really think that I will be fine!

I need to make sure I have everything packed today because it will be a busy weekend.  I went out shopping on Tuesday night and am down to a size 20 - haven't been that size since I lost my weight before I became pregnant with my oldest - that was over 15 years ago. I wore new shorts and a new top last night and FINALLY felt thinner.  Pretty cool! :)

That is it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful day and an amazing holdicay weekend!

Steffi,

Congrats on the size 20, and enjoy your trip to Israel, being a size 20 will certainly help there, feeling thinner is a great thing!

Take care and enjoy the 4th!

Guess it's good afternoon now. Hope everyone has had a good productive day.

Today has me not wanting to open another email, so many "high priority" projects, too little time. And holiday weekend to boot.

The day is winding down, will probably spend a couple hrs in traffic trying to get home tonight. I'm hoping to get home prior to Curves closing for the evening but might not.

Tomorrow will be nice, the granddog is getting dropped off around 10 am, then will be staying the week with us. Should be fun watching our spoiled cat sit on the top of the couch and growling at the dog....it confuses him cause he has cats at his house that are nice to him....

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day....
