Friday Roll Call
Good morning Liz and everyone! Liz - I totally remember working in the business world and the shorter weeks soooo dragged on and on. Never understood it myself. It doesn't feel that bad at the beginning of the school year now. We are still playing getting to know you type games, so it is still feeling pretty quick for me.
JoJo - Feel better soon! I am trying sooooo hard to keep the cold away from me - ever since I have been off my c-pap, I have not been feeling as well as I had - still doing OK though, however, I think the c-pap was keeping me from breathing in any annoying germs overnight. Should be interesting to see how this school year pans out without it!
So, the craziness of the fall season is upon me - after school today, we are headed to the synagogue for the back-to-school services. Tomorrow is a birthday party that the little one is invited to and then dinner for my hubby's birthday and then to a friends house to play games. Sunday starts Hebrew school, then choir pratice for my little one, then soccer if the weather holds out, also for the little one! Darn - it is the first EAGLES game and I won't be abe to see all of it! Darned kids and their acitivities! :)
However, this weekend, hubby is NOT working so he is around. We also need to find time to furniture shop for the little one's new room that hubby is currenty getting ready to paint. It is coming fast and furious....remind me again when I complained that I was bored last week! :)
Have a LOVELY rainy day people! (That was sarcasm!) :)

Happy Soggy Morning everyone,
Today is a good day to stay in bed and watch tv....if only!
I am going to do some laundry and then head out to the gym. After that it is home to shower and get ready to work 3:30 to midnight.
Tomorrow my daughter is cheering in the morning and then we are headed to an old friends house for lunch. Looking forward to it!!
Stay dry!!

Morning all.. you're right Liz, the week did drag. What's up with that.
At this time 8 years ago, I was laying flat on my back on my sofa watching some kids show with Siehara while I was out of work on disability for my back. I remember flipping the channels on a commercial and seeing the footage of the 1st plane hitting the tower. Nickelodeon must have been the ONLY channel that did not get interrupted by this horrible tragedy. I let Siehara watch her shows in the living room and I went in the bedroom to watch the news. What a horrible day. I am tearing up again just thinking about it. I remember not believing what I was seeing and thinking that it was just some stunt or ploy. Then, I saw the 2nd plane hit the tower and knew that it was for real. What a horrible horrbile day.
Back to today, snuck out to Redner's at 7:00 am when I was supposed to be working because I wanted to get the ingredients for the turkey chili. I am making a pot of it to take to my dad's tonight. My stepmom has been such a tremendous figure in my father's life for the past 16 years, but especially this past week since he's been home. I thought the very least I could do was to bring dinner for her.. and this is something that she can keep on hand and eat whenever. My cousin, Sue, also came up from Virginia to help out for a few days. She is also a nurse. So, I'm grateful to her as well. Carol needs to be able to get out of the house a little bit, or at least take a nap.
So, after work, I will go to the gym.. today is "hard cardio" day, so I will do 45 min to an hour on either the bike or treadmill. Then, I will come home and shower and head up to my dad's for a few hours.
Tomorrow, I am meeting with another cousin who is coming to Philly from Georgia. He is taking Siehara and I out to lunch. We are going to Jack's Deli. I'm just trying to figure out what kind of sandwich I am going to eat the insides out of!! YUMMMMMYYYY! I haven't been there in YEARS! I'm sure I can find something that will work and I know I'll have more than 1/2 of the sandwich to take home.
Tomorrow night is the service/performance that I have been rehearsing for over the past few months. I am still trying to figure out where I am going to send Siehara so she is not bored.
Sunday is currently free. I am hoping it stays that way so I can just relax.

Well today is my last day at my current job, I start the new one on Monday. No more insurance for me!! Going back to nursing finally. Today will be bittersweet as I am sad about leaving several close friends but at the same time I am very anxious and excited about the new position and very glad to be leaving this job and all of the stress that goes along with it! The goal is to make it through the entire day with no tears. So I will be trying hard to avoid that. After work plan to stop at the community center for a swim and find out about Zumba and then no plans heading home to relax this evening , maybe a movie. This weekend is the bariatric celebration at Geisinger for all of their post op patients, so that should be interesting if the rain holds off. Not sure what they will do if it is raining because it is held outdoors. Sunday I plan on doing some shopping, still need some clothes that actually fit for the new job. Hope everyone has a great day!
Good luck with the not crying thing. When I left my job last year (10/31) we started work at 11p. I figured I would cry when I was saying goodbye to everyone in the morning. By 1am I was a sobbing mess and was like that intermittently for MOST of the night. And then when I did finally say my goodbyes...goodness gracious....I was pretty sure they were gonna need to sedate me to get me to stop crying.
It's hard to leave a job...and difficult to adjust to the new one...but should all be worth it in the end!
