Freezing Friday Roll call

Good Morning PA Friends -
Brrr......too cold today.

Today has me at work til 1:30 and then we have our office holiday luncheon this afternoon. 

After the luncheon, I'll make another stop at my old place to pick up some more boxes.  Then it's home to make dinner.  That's about it.

Good luck w/your doc appt., but please stop climbing on things to clean.

Today has me here at work till 4pm, then to Curves and hopefully home to the treadmill.

I am on a mission to find a porcelan doll. I had a ton of them brand new in boxes but since they were upstairs taking up space, Gene and I had talked over the years of me getting rid of them since I don't have a place to display and I really was not into them, my ex-husband used to buy them for me because he decided that because his sister collected them so should I. Well being home recovering from surgery my daughter came over so I gave them to her for her yard sale back in October. Now Gene is seeing a little girl for therapy, as part of her therapy he wanted to give her one of these pretty dolls, now I'm running around searching for one so he can give it to her next week. I can't find these darn dolls anywhere in the northeast part of Philly where I live.

So much for my day, I'll continue searching out a doll after the gym...

Good morning!

I *should* be driving to work right now but it's so flippin' cold out there that I'm having trouble motivating myself to walk out the door. So glad I picked up some new Cuddle Duds at Target the other night.  I thought my thermal underwear days were over when I moved from Minnesota back to NJ after grad school -- I didn't know what WLS had in store for me, though!

Today I'll be at work, getting ready for a conference in DC that I have to go to next Monday and Tuesday. I really don't want to go so that's also sapping my motivation.  I have to present a new technology platform that I managed the project team to build, and as of right now, we have no funding for it for 2010, so it seems really stupid to me to go present it at a conference.  Oh well, I'm trying to think positively but so far it's not working too well, bad girl that I am.

After work today, I'll head to the gym and do some swimming.  Then I'm having coffee with a friend, and hopefully not staying out terribly late. I'm tired and could use the rest!

I will have to come back later to catch up on everyone's day...but I am going to do a quick post and run this morning.

Work then home to finish the laundry and give Tucker his ear cleaning and medicine for his ear infections.  After that its date night :)  It will probably end up being a late night and I have to be out the door at 8:30 tomorrow morning, so hopefully there is room in my day tomorrow afternoon for a nap before xmas party number 2 for the week.

I barely got up this morning and got my butt out of bed.  I've been at work for the last 2 hours and I honestly couldn't tell you what I've accomplished.  Boss has the day off work and my head is still in a fog from being out yesterday.  I have 5 appointments today - but based on how cold it is, I'm hoping that half of those students decide it's too cold and stay cozied up in their dorm rooms.  That's what I would have done at 19 on a Friday when I was in college!!! 

Thanks for the tip of chloraseptic Liz - I had hubby stop by the store last night and get the spray, and it worked wonders!

Tonight has us laying low and psyching ourselves up for our last minute errands we need to run before the big drive home to Iowa next weekend.  They just got 14 inches of snow... so my plan to do some last minute shopping around there is now being switched to getting it all done here and driving it to Iowa with us.  

Have a great weekend everyone and do your best to stay warm!  (Kind of thankful I still have my pre-op "layers" to keep me warm today ;)  Last December where that will be the case!

Could not believe that WIND last night!  Our big trashcan (the huge kind that the truck picks up automatically with the hook) was very full, and it was laying on its side this morning.  Wow!  Today is the first time I've worn my new lands end silk undershirt - and I'm LOVING it!  Very comfy and my upper body is toasty warm.  Hands are still cold, but that's to be expected, I guess.

And I've realized that I'm woefully unprepared for the cold - really need a HEAVY winter coat.  My $2 leather bomber jacket is nice and warm, but it only comes down to my waist and doesn't have a hood.  This morning I needed a head-to-toe warm something - and my old coats were so big as to be unwearable.  SO I guess I'm going coat-shopping this weekend. Sigh.

After a week of "intellectual constipation," I think things are finally starting to move.  This has been a week where I've had 6 or 7 major issues sitting on my desk for resolution, and every single one of them has been stalled waiting for someone or something else.  incredibly frustrating.  Finally, this morning, I've gotten resolution on 2 of them, and it looks like a few others are starting to move.  I absolutely HATE that feeling and can't stand it when I'm the one perceived as the log jam.  Oh well.

Becky and Eric got the tree up last night and started putting the lights on it.  Now on to the rest of decorating.  Will probably take us most of the weekend in dribs and drabs.

Looking forward to a really nice weekend.  An old friend who I haven't seen since 2 days post-surg is coming down on Sunday and joining us for dinner for my birthday.  I'm dressing UP to go out, too... found a deep blue velvet mini-dress with long sleeves (very elegant - $6 at Nova Thrift!) and a cool pair of dark silver sparkly sandals and shimmery dark gray pantyhose.   I'll take pics - tried the outfit on (it's a surprise for Eddie) and thought it looked awesome!  Can't wait!

Good Morning All,
Laura no more tricky cleaning. Kathy,my thoughts and prayers are with you.  Please update us.
Today finds me hemming drapes I made my daughter over two years ago.  We put them in the washer with cold water, and dryer to fluff them up a little, and to say they shrunk would be an understatement.  My son in law witched about them every time the heat came on because they separated and the air billowed them out.  Well they won't billow out anymore.  I was going to get matching material to put across the bottom and put weights in, but my daughter won't let me.  He will want to buy drapes, and when he finds out how much they will cost, he will have a brick.  Maybe then she will let me fix them.  He just found a job after being out of work for a year.  Buying new drapes would not be a priority to me at this point.  Still working on fleece blankets and pj's for the kids.  No real plans other than that boring day.  Keep warm, and have a safe day.

This am got up dressed took nana to the bank and get her meds then she took me to breakfast yaya for yesterdays fill cause I hace great rest now. Sweet then went to walmart got two new warm shirt am happy can wear them under my scrubs too and new bra since I'm shrink their too. LOL

Came home showered got dressed for work had the rest of my breakfast now getting read to leave for work 3-11
