My mom and sister are coming on sunday and I want to make them dinner so that after their long drive we can eat relax and open some pressies.

What is a good easy meal to make them, I am thinking home cooking, chicken, yet healthy.  Crock pot would be nice too LOL  Any suggestions?

Also know where I can get Malitol local? In a store

WEll that's Steel's factory is right there - someone said if you call you can pick it up there. So kind of like a store.

There are lots of crock pot choices that are really easy - pulled pork, BBQ chicken, chicken and gravy, pot roast, short ribs (beef), pork roast

you pick then I'll tell you how to make it! lol

To my knowledge, Mallitol is not in a store, or at least, I haven't seen it anywhere I normally go.

For a quick easy meal with chicken, I make a version of Sandra Lee's Semi Home Made Chicken and Dumplings...

Take some celery, carrots, and onions (you can even buy them pre chopped at most grocery stores)  Saute in the bottom of a large pot until onions are translucent (semi clear and slightly softened)  I normally season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and maybe even some poultry seasoning if you have it on hand
Chop up some boneless skinless chicken breasts into large bite size pieces
Add to large pot with veggies, and cover with store bought chicken stock (probably one or two boxes worth.  I like to use the boxes cause you can store any left over stock in the fridge once opened to have on hand)
Add a jar of chicken gravy to add some thickness to it.
Bring to a simmer and coo****il chicken is cooked through.
Take a can of biscuits (you can buy the lower fat ones) and cut each biscuit into 4-6 pieces and roll into little balls
Toss in the simmering chicken mix and coo****il "dumplings" are puffed and cooked through...I think it is about 10 mins or so
Serve!

You can control how many (if any) pieces of dumpling you have, and the chicken and veggies are a healthy option.  I generally have my own home made gravy on hand, but their are really good jarred options out there, and I'm sure there are low fat versions...

I made pulled pork in the crock pot yesterday as a matter of fact.  Super easy!

Pork tenderloin, a little stock (I used chicken) in the bottom of the crock pot.  Place pork tenderloin in, cover with bar b que sauce.  Cook on low 4-6 hours. Shred the pork with two forks, and place back in sauce.  Serve on rolls.  You could add chopped onions pepers etc to add some veggies...but Mr. I don't eat anything that grew in the ground lives here, so I generally don't.  If you like spicy things, add some red pepper, hot sauce, or any other spicy condiment of your choice to the bar b que sauce

Nicole,

I have a delicious recipe that's super easy to make.  Everyone always requests this, and I usually take it to parties, make it for our parties, and my daughter's friends look forward to them every time they have a get together at our house.

Swedish Meatballs
1 bag of Mamma Lucia meatballs (found in the frozen food section)
2 cans of creamed soup (cream of mushroom, cream of celery or cream of chicken) I use whatever I have

1-1/2 cans of milk

1 stick of butter (I use the real thing)

Onion powder to season

Put in the crock pot and let it go.  If you're in a hurry, you can mix all of the ingredients on the stove, then dump in your crock pot with the meatballs that you've microwaved to thaw.

Hope you enjoy!

Debbie

One of my favorite crock pot recipes is a pork tenderloin & a jar of slasa.  Gene can't eat spicy anymore so I use the mild but I'd prefer the spicy.  Just throw both into the crock pot and let simmer, the pork has an amazing flavor.  Sometimes I'll cut up potatoe and throw in there with the salsa so they soak up the flavor also.

Nicole, Lancaster Fine Foods sells Steel's malitol. I think they're on Horseshoe Rd, I think in/near the Greenfield Corporate Center. You can pick up the malitol there but I think you have tocall for it first.
