passed a huge hurdle today

Today I had my physical. I was so nervous. I have extensive health complications that I feared would exclude me for wls.

I had been to an informational meeting, a group meeting about exercise and am expecting to go to the break out session on the 24th. But this physical was my 1st official appt where I was seen by someone.

From what I was told, one requirement from the physical is to have a sleep study done. I suspected this woud be ordered due to night seizures and restless leg syndrome. I also snore like the best of them. I even wake the dogs up! They come up and wake me to see what the heck all that noise is about. lol.

The other issue that came up was my enlarged thyroids. I am already on meds for it. The np was concerned that they are so large. No treatment was ordered though.

Next mo is the psych and nut appts. What can I expect from those appts? BTW I am going thru LVH Dr. Boorse. (I accidently put the wrong Dr on my profile.)

Thanks

A sleep study is a normal process and so is the psych eval.

Relax and go with the flow. You will be fine.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

The NUT will basically just tell you what is expected of you and the psych eval (I didn't have to do one) but they are checking to see if you are prepared mentally for the surgery and can handle the changes.

Just relax and be honest and all will be great!

Hang in there.  Be expecting other tests like EKG or things like that to be ordered as well.

Just as an FYI *most* medical conditions actually HELP you get approved for bypass.  Because some of them (arthritis, diabetes, sleep apnea, hypertension to name a few) can be helped/cured by having bypass/losing weight.

Good luck!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
