TGI TUESDAY roll call

yea yea yea, I know....the general saying is TGIF but lemme tell ya....monday's in the er are notoriously bad and this was NO exception.  We were actually on full divert (not taking ambulances) for a good few hours - and lemme tell you - that NEVER happens.  We were only "open" to trauma's and of course we are not allowed to lock the front doors, lol.  LIterally had 25 people IN THE WAITING room...along with all 41 beds in the ER filled AND 16 patients being treated in the hallway.  Not a fun way to start your shift!

Anyway - we got it "cleaned up" to the best of our ability - came off of divert - still have a LOT of patients considering the time....but at least I'm well over half way done - only 2 stinkin' hours left to go.  We can do ANYTHING for 2 hours, right?

So...agenda....stop at the store - I am being not so good and picking up a thing of pierogies for my dinner tonight.  I WON'T drown them in butter, bacon, and cheese like I used to....but I know it's not exactly a protein packed meal.

Get home, make myself my dinner, take care of the kitties and their boxes....

Gonna pack a bag for jersey, take some tylenol, pepcid, and motrin for the darn TOM issues I'm having, take a nice hot relaxing shower and go to bed.  In all honesty probably won't get there till about 10 or 11 today....but that's ok cause I get to sleep till 7:30 (I can even pu**** till 8 if I want) leave for jersey about 9:15ish.....and do the work thing there.

Enjoy!  I hope the weather is nice for those of you who at least get to step outside and enjoy it even for a minute.  I for one.....wouldn't have minded if the rain decided to stick around cause it would have made for FANTASTIC sleeping weather, lol

wow that is pretty busy, no doubt you handled it like a PRO!

I am at work today and then I have clients tonight nothing too exciting. I am hoping that maybe when I get home this afternoon, I can take a nap rather EAT!  Daylight savings time always kicks my butt. I am happy to have longer days even though we have not seen any sunlight recently I know it is coming.

Good Morning all...........

English class this morning, then a quick run to the post office. After that, I am heading over to my sisters to see her "new" kitchen that just got remodeled over the last 3 weeks and for her to see my new ring. (She gave up Facebook for Lent! Gasp!)

Later will be enjoying the amazing weather we are finally getting. Almost 70 by saturday! Woo Hoo!

Enjoy your day all!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

See - yet another reason to be jewish - we only give up bread for a week - and I have pretty much done that for a year now! :)

I don't give up anything because I am a floating religous person. I don't have a specific faith I pronounce to the world. I just believe in prayer, doing the right thing, be respectful.....that stuff.

We were not raised Catholic. She got confirmed when she was 17, married her high school sweetheart when she was 18, and has been a hard core catholic girl since. She goes to mass all the time, her kids go to Catholic school.....blah, blah, no meat on fridays during lent. All that jazz.

NOT ME! LOL. She has more will  power than I do though when it comes to that stuff.

 Good morning all,

It's Tuesday and I am still flooded out here in NJ.  They closed my offices yesterday due to flooding and power outage.  I was glad since I have been sick as a dog with this cold.  I am waiting for day light to see how bad the flooding is, but think I will call in sick anyway.  I have to get better quick since i am leaving for florida on Thursday.  I hate these blasted colds.  Cold seems to be lodged behind my ears the most.

Anyone have any suggestions?  I have been taking a lot of cough med, tylenol cold and vitamin C.

Thanks
Geoff

It might be a little late to start but I SWEAR by things like zycam.  It really does help to lessen the severity and the duration of colds - but it works best taken at the first sign of a cold.

HOw much vitamin C are you taking?  Take at least 1000mg a day - if not up to 2000mg.  Extra vit C can't hurt you - it will only be excrted by your kidneys in your urine (do be sure to drink plenty of fluids/water)

You can also try taking zinc.  I forget the doseage of it, but it's over the counter....take whatever the bottle tells you, but again if you take extra in it can't hurt you - will just be excreted in your urine.

Rest as much as possible

Oh - and look for something specifically with "decongestant" in it to help the pressure behind your ears.  I also might reccommend something like Mucinex (just check it's not the one WITH decongestant - otherwise you are doubling up on decongestants and that's not good) to help with any draining secretion from your head - make sure it doesn't go into your chest and/or helps you get it out regardless.

Feel better!
