Ok so I said before that I was having a hard time with no one telling me they see the weight change or anything.  Well yesterday my niece got married and I was told by so many people how good I looked and they kept asking me where my other half was.  I felt soooo good!  I needed that so much.  I finally got positive reaction concerning my surgery that I so needed.  I just had to share some wonderful news.  Oh it has been over 20 years that I have let someone take a picture of me well yesterday I didnt mind at all so hopefully soon I will get the pictures and be able to put one on here.

Congratulations!  It's so nice to get the "outside" recognition of what you already know is happening, isn't it?

My other bit of advice is to take pictures of yourself (no matter how painful that is) ALL the way through this process.  You'll be surprised at the difference when you see the journey in its little bits and pieces.  Pictures don't lie.  Mirrors do.  It can help when you get further down the road and have a harder time seeing the "new you" in the mirror.

Enjoy and savor every minute of the well-deserved recognition!

Thanks Karen I always look forward to your posts and replies....your awesome.  Sorry to hear about your appendix surgery but hopefully your feeling much better now.  I will definately start taking pics now of my journey because last night is what I needed and I think it will help boost up my low self esteem issues.

Pam - CONGRATS!!!!!  It is soooo fun when we get unsolicited remarks!  And - also I might suggest gettin gon here more - keep us up to date on the daily ahhpenings and we cn always find a way to boost your self-esteem.....The people here hold me up on a daily - sometimes even hourly - basis.  I think being in touch wit these people is what has helped me be so successful.  And believe me - there have been times when I have felt PRETTY low! :)

Congrats!!!  We all need positive reinforcement and I'm glad you were able to receive some from family and friends!  What an AMAZING feeling!

DEFINATELY keep taking pictures...no matter how hard it is...once a month.  It REALLY does come in handy!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I definitely recommend taking pictures (no matter how painful). You don't have to share them with anyone, but it will help you see the results. I still shy away from the camera, but just recently saw an old picture from a few years ago and some many people have said I look like a totally different person already. Maybe one of your goals could be to share a recent picture of yourself with your OH friends. What do you think? (unless you're not posting a pic for other reasons and for that I understand the privacy issue)
