Don't see it - should I try Safari?  I am on Firefox - but you said it works for you - I wonder if it is something that the school district is able to have blocked?

For those who can't see the chat status (and WANT to) in Firefox, go to Tools -> Options -> Content and make sure "Enable Javascript" is turned on.  Turning it off took away the chat window for me.

And NORM, if you want to be antisocial, you can turn OFF Javascript and it will be as though it never existed.  ;-)  Or you can just open the chat window and make yourself "unavailable."  Whichever floats your boat.

enable javascript is on, but I still can't see it :(

if you click Advanced next to enable javascript, are the following two items checked? (they are for mine)
- move or resize existing windows
- disable or replace context menus (I think this is the one that does it)

Gotta love having an IT pro at our disposal! :)

I am on a MAC - I do not have the "option" under Tools - Only web search, and a few other things that mean nothing to me - what else can I do?  I tried to look up javascript and found nothing there either....damned school district!

I can't seem to find the Tools in Safari - oh well...to be perfectly honest - I probably shouldn't be trying this hard to figure it out.  Testing is done and I should go back to actually interacting with my kids....I will have a whole year to figure it out for testing next year!
