Alrighty guys and gals.  We have got a TON of new faces on the board.  Sooooo much fun!  And they've done a pretty darn good job of jumping right in and telling us who they are and what not.  But how much do they know about US?  I say we have a full fledged reintroduction.

I guess considering I posted it, I should start, huh?

I'm Pam...29 years old, will be 30 this December.  Was overweight most of my life despite playing sports etc etc.  Food was always abound in my family - we revolved around it.

I had surgery in October of 2007 which makes me about 2 1/2 years out.  RNY by Dr. Pupkova at Barix in Langhorne.  At the time, I was living in NJ  I've lost about 105-110 pounds, depending on the day  I now live in Easton, Pa

I'm a registered nurse in the emergency department.  I went from my small little community hospital in jersey to the "mecca" called Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest in Allentown.  I'm also pursuing per diem employment at Sacred Heart in Allentown

Hubby is Brian, we've been together for just about 10 years already - married for 5 as of November.  No children yet, but we are working on it :)  Hubby is going back to school as of this fall - YAY to get his IT degree.  I'm soooo excited for him!

I admit I've been slacking on exercise and that will change starting Friday :)

EDITED:  I did not mean for it to sound like only the "older time members" should post to this - and I'm glad the newer ppl joined in the fun!  I totally enjoyed this thread and glad to see so many other people did, too!!!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

So that's who you are :)

I'm Liz and I am an OH addict, oh wrong post lol. I am 29 years old, 30 in June (the 4th so you can start shopping now lol). Chris and I have been together almost 8 years and married 5 as of April. We are expecting baby #1 any time now - due 5/21 but we'll see!

I had my surgery done at Barix in Langhorne 1/30/07 by Dr Brader and I do my follow up care with him in Lancaster - LOVE that man. I had lap RNY and am down approx 140 pounds (pre-pregnancy) from a high weight of 327 pounds.

I live in Easton Pa - well really Raubsville (1/2 way between Rieglesville and Easton). I have 2 cats, Imogene and Newman.

I am the project manager / graphic designer / LED guru / paint coordinator / bosses right hand girl for a sign shop in Horsham PA - City Sign Service. I've been here for almost 7 years and in the industry about 10. I have my BA in Advertising and Graphic Design from Moravian College in Bethlehem.

Hobbies are cooking (you want it made WLS friendly let me know - I'll try and help!), gardening and my family / friends. I don't know where I would be without the friendships that I have made as a result of this surgery - it was the best decision of my life on so many levels. I have led my post-op life basically complication free. At about a year out I developed ulcers that were healed with meds and at about 18 months out I had my gall bladder removed because it wasn't functioning properly.

So that's me in not so much of a nutshell!

Liz

I am Elizabeth Hill Radlbeck on facebook or my e-mail is [email protected] if anyone wants to add me

Nice to meet you Pam!!

Ok here goes.....

My name is Jess, 29 years old...will be 30 in October. I too struggled with weight all of my life and finally made the decision years ago to have RNY. I had RNY on Feb 3, 2004 with Dr. Sawyna at Sacred Heart in Allentown. I went from 340lbs down to 165. Since then I have had a baby (Aug 4 2008) and have gained some weight. I am back up to about 200, but in the long run, I still consider myself a success because I am maintaining a weight loss of 140lbs!!

I have been struggling to lose the 35-40lbs I have gained, and have not had much success. I have been fighting the gain for a few years now and just cannot get my head around eating properly again. I have let a lot of my bad habits slip back into my life!

I currently live in Pottstown, PA with my wonderful hubby Gerard and our little peanut Sarrah. I work as an IT professional at a small community hospital in Bucks county.

Its nice to meet all of you!!!!

Jess

Oh yay - another way to introduce myself.....

I am Steffi - I will be 41 on Friday and am 13 months out of surgery.  I had Lap RNY with Dr. Pupkova at the Barix Clinic in Langhorne.  It was a four year decision to make and it was the BEST 40th birthday gift I could have given to myself.  I was always overweight and it got dangerously unhealthy after I got married.  I have been married to my wonderful husband Larry for almost 18 years and we have three children, well, when they are behaved, they are MY children, and when they are obnoxious, which is often, they are HIS children!  They are 15, 12 and just about 8.  The 15 and 12 year olds are giving us a run for our money as of late with their teenage and tween drama and I thank god that I had the surgery when I did or else I could see myself eating my way through this stage of their lives!

I am also a teacher of middle school students in Philadelphia.  I teach Math and TRULY love it - well, except the standardized testing part.....It was a second carreer for me and another one of those decisions that I took a long time to ponder over and was happy when I came out the other end.

I have gained so much insight to the idea of food addiction from the people that I have not only met on here, but have grown to love, trust and depend on through the daily battles of living this new life!

If you ever read something from me - please note that it is most likely said with sarcasm and a little smirk from my end...it is how I roll! :)

Welcome to the PA boards and we are thrilled to have some new faces to play with!  (oh and like Beth - I too am on facebook - Stefanie Polin Belitsky - it can get REAL crazy over there!)

Great idea, Pam!

I'm Karen... 47 years old (I share a birthday with Pam and Dennis in December).  Was overweight my entire life and am a food addict (sugar and carbs).  After many years of struggle, I decided to have surgery and went to Dr. Pupkova at Barix.  My surgery was April 22, 2009, so I'm a year out.  I've lost 100 pounds, and would like to get about another 10 off.

A few months ago, I was asked to be a support group leader at Barix, which I feel very honored and humbled to do.  I love the Barix support groups and rarely miss one (and only for good reason!).  I also rarely miss Liz's cooking classes - although my emergency appendectomy a month ago did lead me to miss one!

The OH boards are a source of daily support and accountability for me, and have become the source of some truly wonderful friendships and community.

My "main" job is as an IT director at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, PA.  I also am a jewelry designer and teach jewelry casting at Bucks.  I have a wonderful hubby, Eddie, to whom I've been married for 22 years, and 2 great girls.  Katie, my eldest, is turning 21 in July and is a student at Penn State main campus.  Becky is 18 and is a senior at Central Bucks High School.  She'll be coming to Bucks starting in the fall ****il she figures out what her major is going to be, and will then transfer somewhere).  We have 4 cats and numerous fish.  My elderly mother (age 89 and cantankerous) lives with us and has for about 18 years.  We live in Doylestown.

That's "all about me" as the saying goes... oh wait, no, that's STEFFI's line...

Hi All -

I'm Lisa.  I'm 40 years old and I decided last year that getting healthy was going to be my birthday present to myself.

I had surgery June 23, 2009 with Dr. Pupkova at Barix in Langhorne.  I'm down just about 100 pounds - struggling a bit to cross the line, but hanging in there and ideally, I would like to lose another 20 pounds.

I live in Stowe, PA, which is just outside of Pottstown, with my super duper boyfriend Brad and my ornery little cat Peanut.

My hobbies include reading, going to the gym (most of the time anyway...haha), NASCAR and shopping for bargains.

I'm technically challenged, as you can see my avi is a lame pic swiped from the internet. One of these days, I'll figure out how to coordinate my camera and my laptop and get a pic back.

Lisa
