Hey Brian,

I was on Prilosec before my surgery and Dr. G told me to continue it for about 3 months until my pouch was healed.  It helps with gas build-up and I do feel a lot better after I take it.

Ask your doctor for the generic, it's much cheaper than OTC and works just the same.

I hope this helps!

Topic: Medication Question
Hello everyone.  I have heard that some surgeons prescribe some sort of Prilosec (i know its available OTC) in order to minimize i guess what I would call burping.  I am seeming to have alot of episodes of needing to burp but it gets stuck in the throat and wont come up, and i can feel it in my stomach.  My understanding is that either Prilosec or something that can be prescribed would help this.  Can anyone give me any info on this and if any of Dr Rpyes patients read this, let me know if you have had this problem and if Dr Roye gave soemthing for this.

I just want to say, this doesnt hurt, but its getting extremely annoying especially since the majority of the time that i am feeling this is when i am trying to talk.  Thanks

Brian

Is the whole time dedicated to an exchange?  I was thinking abut going, but I have no clothes to give (I already donated then to sallys) so it might be weird if I went.

Maybe I will just attend next months meeting.

Hello Everyone!

The cool weather is here again!

Our October meeting is

TOMORROW!

October 21, 2009

 7PM - 9PMRoger Williams Medical Center

In The Greene Lounge

(follow the bright yellow signs)

825 Chalkstone Ave

Providence, RI

Come early...Stay late!

This is YOUR meeting!

This month...

1) It's our annual FREE clothing exchange!

I always tell my friends that the most expensive part of having weight loss surgery is having to buy clothes that FIT as we are downsizing!

Please DON'T BE SHY! If you have clothes that are just taking up space in your home, why not share them with those of us who could use them? And, even better, if you NEEDWANT clothes why not save some money! Who can resist FREE gently used clothes!

Bring your bags, boxes and tubs full of clean, gently used clothes to the meeting! Bring your empty bags!

Anyone who wishes not to take their un-chosen clothes back home, I will take them home with me and donate them to Big Sisters of Rhode Island in the Living Life Group name!  Their truck will be on my street on Thursday!

I will be at Roger Williams 6PM to help lay out and sort clothes onto the tables at the back of the cafeteria.

2)  Dr. Pohl & Dr. Giovanni have their website up and running!

If you are a patient of Dr. Pohl's or Dr. Giavanni's and would like to share your before and during/after photos and a short testamonial about yourself with others through their website, please email me or bring a CD/DVD with your photo(s) and testamonial along with the attached media release form filled out and signed.

You can also fax the completed form to my home number (401) 725-7836 (please call first so I can turn on the machine)
