hey jenn,
i have uhc and was approved for my surgery within a week of submitting everything. i called the insurance company and they told me i was approved. it was just a matter or dr. pohl's office getting the paperwork back and calling me. thaaat took some time. waiting is the worst part. good luck!

Topic: Have not been on here in a while. So sorry for that..
WOW it has been a while since I been to OH. I been so busy doing that summer thing, it just never seem to be enough time in the day. I really hope everyone is doing well. Here is what is going on in my life. COOKOUT, PARTY, WEDDING SHOWER, WEDDINGS, MORE COOKOUT The list go on and on . Have to say this summer has been a blast so far. 2 more days and I go on vacation. So as you can see I been one busy girl. Now on to the good stuff.
I am down 193lbs whoooooooooooohooooooooooooooooo Next step is to get some skin removed. I am trying for Jan 2010. I have 3 really good doctor that have wrote letter saying that I need this skin removed for medical reason. Major back and neck problems going on. P.T. is helping some but still not enough. I been taking muscle relaxers and sometime pain medication. I really hate taking any kind of drugs but , I am doiing what I have to do. After P.T. I tell you the pain meds are so welcomed. lol... All and All I will put up with it for I have never felt better about myself in a long time as I do now. I still say this is the best thing I have ever done having gastric bypass saved my life. Now for my other half CHIP. He has lost 60lbs so far. He is doing so well when he went for his second fill they didn't give him it because he has lost 8lbs since the 1st fill. 1month. I am so proud of him.
I am also happy because in this pst year and some odd months I have made the best friends from here. My second family
well, that is what is up in my life I will try to make more time to be on here more .

ok... i thought i would put this out there... my husband decided he was going to buy me a bike that i had mentioned i may get one day....surprise!!! (very sweet of him)
well, he asked to go for a ride, which i thought was going to be around the block, since i haven't been on a bicycle in 20 years...
i am happy to report, i rode 2 miles.... i was thrilled... yes i panted like a dog in heat, but i did it...and was so proud of myself. it is certainly amazing the things you can find yourself doing after losing a bit of weight... i am no longer trapped!!!!!!!!! i was as elated as a child taking off their training wheels for the first time and hitting the open road....lol
i also had the courage to put on a bathing suit and head to the beach last weekend..!!!!!!
i know this may not be the best post material, but i thought i would let everyone know..things are certainly possible... try and try again... every time i achieve something new, and reach a new weight, and a smaller size, i think to myself...THIS IS WHY I DID THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rode a bicycle for the first time in 20 yrs....
wore a bathing suit and went to the beach....
my son telling me he is proud of me....priceless!!!!!!

Congradualations on your re-birth date!!!!
What a great day to have your surgery, it is actually my B-Day. Maybe next year we can go out and celebrate it together lol. I'm very excited for you and I think it's great you and your husband are doing this together.

OMGoodness yes! the outcome of surgery was something I was very concerned about...would I be ok? would there be complications? Would they be able to FIX ME??? To be anxious about these things is normal...we all go thru it no matter what the surgery! The anesthesia, the procedure, the recovery, all of it...but its so worth it..things will go well, Dr. Roye is a wonderful surgeon. You'll wake up to the nurses saying...its over and it went well! You're gonna do great! A positive attitude helps alot too! Cathy
