Hi Sheri,
I haven't, personally, met anyone who's had a RNY revision done in RI. Only revision from Band to RNY.
The only thing I can offer is for you to call the Docs in RI.
Here are their numbers:
Dr. Dieter Pohl & Dr. Jeannine Giovanni (Roger Williams Medical Center)
(401) 521-6310
-------------------------------
Dr. David Harrington, Dr. Beth Ryder & Dr. Dean Roye (Rhode Island Hospital)
(401) 444-6290
-----------------------------
Dr. Siva Vithiananthan (Miriam Hospital)
(401) 793-5140
Please let us know how things work out with you! Meanwhile, I'd love to have you join us at our Post op meetings in RI! There's always someone there who has been through or is going through what you are!
Send me an email at [email protected]. I'll send you the list of RI Support Groups!
Hope to see you soon!

Hello my OH Friends!
As you well know, on June 4, 2008 I had RNY, Gastric Bypass Surgery. I have lost and maintained a loss of 154 pounds for more than a year now! Each and EVERY day I have to conciously make the right decisions as far as food and exercise and seeking support!
On October 24, 2010, Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence and I will be helping the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Foundation and the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) fight one of the nation’s fastest growing epidemics at the (first EVER in Rhode Island) Walk from Obesity at Slater Memorial Park in Pawtucket, RI.
The Walk From Obesity is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that is designed to raise awareness of obesity, morbid obesity and childhood obesity. Funds raised from the event support the ASMBS Foundation and its research and professional education initiatives and also support the patient and general public educational and advocacy programs of the Obesity Action Coalition.
I am looking for your help by either having YOU register to walk and get pledges from family, friends and neighbors and co-workers AND/OR by having you visit our Walk From Obesity webpage and sending a donation to this meaningful cause!

Thanks for your support,

Thanks Guys!
I actually lucked out and called the office that was on Dr. Giovanni's list back to set up a visit and it was my lucky day there had been a cancellation. I had my psych eval yesterday. It was lengthy but it wasnt bad at all.
I felt the same way Sassy....figured since I worked here I could just do a one time visit for this eval but I think the psychologist here just didnt want to do it...whether it was that she didnt have time, didnt want to make time, or just didnt want to get involved she made up the excuse that I had to be a patient here or no can do. So be it....Im kinda glad now that I went elsewhere because they do get a little personal and Im not all that comfortable with the Psych here. It all worked out in the end
Dr. Giovanni was giving me the option to go with someone else if I wanted to so thats why I was trying to get someone closer to home. But anyway, like I said, it all worked out in the end!
Now I have to get my EGD done next Thursday and another visit with the Nutritionist and I think then I can set up another appointment with Dr G!
Thanks for the replies!
Sheri
