Just make certain Dr. G. will accept whomever you can get to do the eval.  My surgeon was strict -- all testing had to be done by the providers they arranged.

If you work at mental health facility, why can't one of the psychologists there do your evaluation? I do medical billing in Providence and I was able to get my evaluation by a psychologist in the group. She doesn't take new patients but does take one time evaluation for WLS. If that doesn't work for you, just call around. My evaluation lasted 1 hour or so and I heard the ones at RI Hospital (recommended by Pohl and Giovanni) last a lot longer and take forever to get into for an appointment.

Good luck! These pre evaluation exams are exhausting!

I asked about cancelations. That's what I did. Good luck. My surgery is on the 14th of October.

For your psych visit?  I called the one number that Dr. Giovanni's office gave me and they had a long waiting list to get in and Im getting all my other testing done in the next few weeks and really dont want to have to wait that long for that one thing so Im trying to look around to see where I can have this done.  I work at a mental health facility but according to the Psychologist here, unless you are already a patient of theirs, they dont do just WLS visits.

I live in Southern RI but I will travel if it means getting this done fairly soon.  Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Taking my pain medication helped me to move around more.  This in turn helped me to relieve gas pains.  I say try not to be a hero and take your pain meds.  Why be in so much pain when you have a choice not to?  Hope you feel better soon.  Believe me it gets better every single day.  Try and be patient.  HUGS
