Could you call their offices and ask?  If they don't do it, you could ask if they know who does.  Have you researched surgeons in the Boston area?

My PCP suggested her to me - Atmed in Johnston I think... I think it might be fatima or roger williams not sure though.

I def do not want to be cut all the way around - I don't care what my ass looks like!!!  All I care about it removing my stomach and having boobs that look full!!  I am afraid of the circumferential cut!! Who did you consult with?

I will be calling this week to make an appt... we shall see!! I hope it will be less if I get both done at the same time.  I am undecided on just a breast lift or lift with augmentation....  my husband says go with he sugmentation LOL!! I think it will depend on what size I can be without it!  I have always wore a D cup or larger and I would like ot be a decent D or full C when all is said and done!!

hi jo...
i did have a consult, insurance wont cover the breast reduction /lift...make the requirements so damn hard to achieve.

the breast surgery would be close to 7500.00 and the thigh lift was the other surgery, and that was about 6,000.

however, they did give me a quote for a belt lift, whi*****ludes, butt, and tummy...that was about 15,000. they said if i did that, i probably wouldnt need to do the thighs... guess they just wanted to give me more to think about.

where is lori polacek out of? i am also going to try the clinic at rih.

good luck, let me know what other info you get... i am still inquiring!
thanks

linda

Hi There! I just had my surgery this weekend and I had Dr Beth Ryder..she did my gallbladder over a year ago too...she is very good and has 3 other doc who are in her practice..at RIH and her number is: 5538303 if you want to give her a call...the whole hospital and program with support is excellent. Doesn't hurt to call and set up a consult..then you can get a feeling for yourself too..first hand.
Best wishes & luck to you!

Hi Julz,   Welcome to the site!  yes, this whole process can be confusing and also frustrating.  But the end result is sooo rewarding!  There are quite of few excellent WLS surgeons here in RI.  You could ask your regular doctor for recommendations.  The people here are always willing to suggest their docs.  I had Dr. Jeannine Giovanni.  She is wonderful.  Young, comes from an Italian family with weight issues.  The only critisism I've heard is about the office staff ( same staff as with Dr. Pohl).  I personally have not had any problems with them.  You can go into my page ( click on my name) and I have written about my progress.  Also Dr. Pohl is an excellent surgeon as well.  There are surgeons at RIH and Miriam Hosp.  that people love too.  I good place to lets LOTS of information and make LOTS of friends is at the support group meetings.  There is the "Living Life" group at RWGH on the third Wednesday of every month.  I go to that one.  You are absolutely welcome to come and join us!  A lot of us on OH go to the meetings.  Well, how is that for an answer to your  questions?  I know, I little more than you expected.  Good luck on your journey. Your friend, Eldy

Hello, I just had Lap RNY on 4-5-10 and Dr.V as he is called did my surgery, everything went well, very professional and thou rough. I could not have picked a better Doctor. On another note I really do not care for his office staff but oh well, it seems that whenever I have a question it seems to me I am bothering them.

I researched everything I could before meeting with him, the only problem I had was I had Type 2 diabetes and did not no until I had my initial blood work done and I had to get it under control before he would do the surgery, it took about 3 months to get my levels to where Dr.V wanted them. Once he saw the levels were good it took less them 60 days to have my surgery, I am 3 weeks post op as of tomorrow and i have lost 26 lbs, like alot of people that say this my only regret so far is I wish I would have done this sooner.

Good luck with your Journey, it can be fun, I know I enjoyed it.
