Hello,

You are making a great decision!  I still use my protein shakes to help get the protein in!  I also use protein bars once you get past the intial stage.  This helps me reach my protein grams that I need each day!

Good luck!

Congratulations on your date coming up!!  My advice for protein?  protein shakes can be your friend!  I still drink them.  I like the one you can get at Walmart. "Body Fortress' Whey Protein. It says 52g protein, but thats if you use 2 scoops. I only use one. I do add some unsweetened cocoa powder to make that much more chocolatey.  Also, there is greek yogurt ( higher in protein than other yogurts).  Fat Free refried beans (El Paso) with shredded cheese.  Heat it up in the microwave. Yum!  Then later you could put that in tostitto scoops!  My favortie meal!!  Thats just a few suggestions. I am sure others will have some good ones too!  Good luck!   Your doing a great thing for yourself!

2 more days till I am banded!!!!!!!! :-)  Ok I have a question here the NUT said I need to have 60-80 grams protien. However the sample menu she gave me is not that much protien a day. I am freaking out a bit I just want to do this right. Any advice would be great.

I would also suggest talking with our nutritionist about it especially if you are not keen on meat to ensure you get a full complement from your food intake as well.

Thanks Eldy,

I don't regret doing the surgery at all, but I just want to get on top of any deficiencies before it gets any worse. I'm not a huge fan of meat to begin with and like it even less since surgery, so I will probably have to supplement extra which is fine, but I want to start doing it now!

Thanks for your support and I'll keep you posted after I see my surgeon tomorrow!

Follow directions, and remember it's a marathon, not a sprint.
