Topic: RE: Ferritin Level of 2
hey Robyn, sorry to hear your level is low. But please, don't make yourself crazy until you have all the answers. When you see your surgeon on Thursday he will clear things up for you. You are not alone in this. This is something that happens to alot of people. You are still healthier than you were before the surgery. You are on the upswing. Let us know how everything goes for you. Sorry, I can't give you any other answer. But motivation is important and positive attitudes can really make a difference. Good luck! You have done a wonderful thing for yourself! Eldy
Topic: Ferritin Level of 2
Hi everyone,
I got my bloodwork back and everything was in the normal range except for my ferritin. It was at a 2. I've been reading different posts on here and am confused. Some people say if my B12 and Iron levels are fine then it's not a big deal. Others say that such a low ferritin level requires iron transfusions. I am going to see my surgeon on Thursday of this week so I'm sure we will talk about it, but I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what the deal is with low ferritin!?
I added another iron pill at the beginning of this week (I was taking 2 chewable multivitamins with iron per day, and now added another iron pill as well).
I'm nervous and don't want to be, someone please help!
thanks
robyn

I LOVE Dr. Ryder! She did my band and was just the best. She always took time with me to answer all my questions and she is just a peach!

What a whirlwind you must be in, so close!! I'm very happy for you. I'll just let you know, I didn't need anything but big comfy jammy pants, because I wore the johnny they give you and the hosipital non-slip socks. I did bring my CPAP, and only needed it my first night in ICU and was told I didn't need it anymore after that. Now it collects dust in my closet. Best of luck and speedy recovery!
