Last night my wonderful BF of 4 years took me out on a date last night to one of our favorite sushi restaraunts.

Well, on the way home my hand was itching so while I was scratching my finger tips ran across a bump on the side of my wrist.  Horrified, I checked the other side and sure enough I had an identical bump there too.  After about a good 2 minute freak out my BF explained that it was my wrist bone/joint and that everyone has them and reassured me by showing me his.

I laughed so hard, I never knew mine had been hiding all of this time and that I would have bone structure in my hands and wrist too!  Now that I'm looking at them, I think my knuckles are making an appearance too!  I always remembered them as being little chubby hands with dimples as knuckles.  LOL

I had an appointment with another dr. a month post op, and when they punched in my weight to their computer it came up with a message " This person has lost over 20% of their body weight, are you sure it is ...?"  What a wonderful feeling.

I am 16 days post-op from RNYGB at the Cleveland Clinic. There have been so many funny moments and my journey is JUST beginning! First, I can say that I don't remember much about surgery day or the day after. The dilaudid pain pump, although amazing, caused me to say SEVERAL things and tell LOTS of jokes and also caused me to ITCH constantly. I complained so much that they gave me some Benedryl. :-) Second, once your bowels start back up... HOLY GAS BATMAN!! Enough to clear a room and make your own eyes water! It only lasted a few days while things got back to normal but man it literally hurt because I was laughing so hard!

about 3 years after my surgery, I attended my cousins wedding.  A couple my husband & I knew from our daughters softball team (two years prior)  walked in the same as we did. The husband spoke w us but the wife did not.  a few hours into the wedding the wife came up to me and apoligized.  She thought I was my husbands mistress, & had an arguement w her husband for speaking to the mistress!!!!  he then informed her I wasn't the mistress!!!!!!  she felt really silly & I flattered ---  it was really funny

My funniest post op moment had to be when I thought I had a cyst on my wrist....when it was actually just my wrist bone! Who knew?? LOL

Before my surgery, I was put on a trial with a CPAP machine to see if it helped me. It didn't, so I didn't buy. Of course the internist put down CPAP on my file and forgot the "if required". So the first night I was in the hospital I am woken out of sound sleep by a cranky lady wanting to know where it was. I explained to her why I didn't have one (I had already explained the same thing several times before the surgery). So I was getting a little cranky, but I was pleasant and figured ok The respitoray therapist knows I don't need if so I am clear.

The next night a different one comes in looking for it and he has a real "winning" personality. He actually asked me if anyone has mentioned the word "CPAP" to me. So I said yes, but the doctor said I didn't need one for another 3 years, because my previous screenings were clear.

Served him right....jerk.

My funniest moment thus far:
I am 4.5 months post op and have lost 86 pounds. I ran into someone I know, but have not seen in awhile. She looked at me and asked...Did you do something different with your hair?  I smiled, and replied no, but I had lost over 80 pounds.  Her response was "WOW!"

86 lbs down, 19 to go..............

I told my 8 year old nephew that all the scars on my belly were actually little shark bites, and that I defeated the shark! ...he didn't believe me. It was still pretty funny though. :P
