Ok so I am finally allowed water by mouth after surgery yesterday. I have to take in 30cc every 30 minutes...I feel like I'm doing this without a problem, like I don't even feel it going down. Like I don't really need 30 minutes to even fini**** Should it be more difficult for me to do this?

No.  That is a very small amount of water.  I could easily drink that in two swallows right after surgery.  SOME people find that their pouches hurt when they drink, so that is why people are told to sip, sip, sip (if teh doctros tell EVERYONE that, they don;t have to field any phone calls from patients saying it hurts to drink).  If it doesn't cause you any discomfort, there is no reason not to just drink normally (or more normally than teeny tiny sips).  It certainly makes getting in your daily fluids much easier.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
