Finally felt the pain of not following the rules...
on 11/16/16 7:34 am
Not that I was trying to fail. Everything was going so perfect. 3 weeks in and no issues! Then yesterday, I ate lunch too fast. I didn't get sick but I felt like I would. My stomach had pain and plenty of discomfort. I guess I had to experience it to "teach" me.
We all learn the hard way. It takes only a little less chewing, or a little too fast, to bite us on the ass.
Convinced you had surgery yet?

I think we all have to do that in order to test the parameters of what our new reality is. I had surgery just a few days before you and once I was off the liquid diet, it took me awhile and some trial and error to figure out that feeling full is no longer a sensation in my belly but under my sternum, kind of like really bad indigestion. Now that I know what to watch for, I'm a lot more careful about slowing down and chewing well ... it's not a pleasant sensation and one to avoid, if possible.

I'm 6 months along... last weekend, while at a dinner party, apparently I didn't chew enough... I spent the next 3-4 hours miserable (and trying to hide it), and just before we left, I got sick in the bathroom. It was a stellar reminder that I STILL don't always chew enough! ![]()
Hopefully this will be your one and only reminder ![]()

That is just the worst pain ... feels like a heart attack. It happened to me last week when I was eating in my car (tiny amount but I was in a hurry). For the next hour I was in agony while trying to pick up a 7-yo from school, drive him home, all the while trying to act normal. Soon as I got into the bathroom it was resolved but yuck. Huge reminder to eat slowly. No more 5-minute meals for me, even at 1/4 cup of food.

That is so true. I constantly had that horrible feeling with the band and I'm certain that what I learned from that has caused me to be better prepared for RNY. It's only happened to me once and it's cause I was getting ****y.
