Yum! I had never heard of those but looked them up and they sound great. The stats are amazing for Keto, too! Thanks for sharing, I will check them out!

Good morning! I'm feeling slightly better today but I'm following up my ER visit with my regular doctors office. I'm disappointed to learn that my GP moved out of the office I've been going to, so they got me in with someone else for this followup, but I may be needing to find a new doctor (or track down where mine went if she's still in town somewhere else.) I also got a good rec for a chiropractor if I need. I'm going to wait and see how I feel once we're back from our trip.

speaking of which--my Seattle time is mostly accounted for (visiting with a friend from high school), but I'm spending a half day in Portland. I've already been told to check out Powell's Books, anyone have any suggestions for other quick-ish stops or a dinner recommendation?

qotd: lap scars from RNY and gallbladder, and I have scars on my arms from cutting myself while gardening (I forget to wear gloves sometimes). I have a scar on my upper right arm from a bottle rocket when I was around 12.

Breakfast: coffee with premier

lunch: I forgot to check the menu at work, but salad bar if it's not good.

dinner: we will likely make thin crust pizzas using low-carb wraps for crusts.

Good morning JB and Menu folks. Happy Tuesday. Ran into a young gal ( 28-30) at the gym last night, Family friend, she had VSG about 3 years ago. Prior to surgery she had asked me questions about the VSG, why I had it , etc. I can remember telling her the first year is easy and then it gets real, that the surgery is not an Easy button and if you do not change habits , you will not have success. Well, she has not done well, I was so shocked to see her that I just said hello and got on with my workout and she did as well. I felt awful for her. On the way home I was wondering if I should offer some advice? I do not know what type of support she utilizes if any, does she journal, weigh, etc. Or do I keep my mouth quiet?

QOTD - my biggest scars are my surgery scars and my crooked busted nose. When I first started playing hockey we did not wear full face shields.....

Ouch, that's a touchy subject. When I was overweight I hated people giving me suggestions; as in I know I'm fat, I can see it, I don't need you to tell me. And that was all before WLS. If this girl has had the surgery and hasn't been successful it must be so hard for her to hear from other people what to do. If she is at the gym that means she is trying. I guess if it were me I would make myself available for HER to start the conversation if she wants to. So maybe next time when you see her stay close by, and workout near her, she might be disappointed in herself and having a hard time opening up. My heart breaks for her.

My heart breaks as well, I kept going over and over in my mind if I had given her any false hope, not explained things correctly. I will have to play it by ear and let her lead the conversation. I think she could see by the surprised look on my face. There are so many that think this is easy, people that know I have had surgery will tell me how well I have done. I am quick to let them know how hard I work at it, and that my motivation is to stay off from medication!!!

I know you feel you lead her down this path but remember it was ultimately her choice. She as well as all of us had to see nutritionist phycologist, and plenty of specialist who outlined the program over and over again. Not once did anyone tell me this was going to be easy. As the old saying goes you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink!! Please do not be hard on yourself. You had great intentions.

Aw, that's tough. Poor kid... I'd stay out of it. You know she knows how to reach you, and that you are open and willing to talk about surgery, so if she wants your advice, she''ll ask. At least she was at the gym, right?

Good morning everyone. I have work today, not really feeling it. I would rather stay at home with my dog and weed the flower beds.

QOTD- I have a scar on my eyebrow. I got hid by a doorknob when I was young playing hide and seek. Also my lap RNY scar and lap gallbladder removal.

Food was good yesterday. I find that if I eat on a schedule, then I do well. I am really trying to keep my carbs as low as possible, under 20 and calories under 1000.

Here is the food plan for today-

B-cauliflower wrap, 2 oz Boars Head pepperino ham, 1 slice light swiss, medium egg.

Snack - Tillamook no sugar jerky

L-4 oz shredded chicken with salsa

D-grilled halibut

Lots of water and vitamins always

I get them at Costco, they come in a double pack of 12. I think they were 7.99. They are thin like a crepe. I put them in my pan, add my slice of cheese and 2 oz of ham, let them all melt. In another pan, I cook my egg and then put it all together. This is my current favorite breakfast.
