Sunday WLS Express

Hey all you sleepyheaded Texans, wake up and jump on the train.  No one had cranked it up yesterday early in the morning when I was on the internet and I missed it, but thought I'd get it started today.  David must be getting a lot of rest, but deserve's it! My sister, BIL, 2 nieces and I went to College Station yesterday and met my dad and stepmom for lunch at the Messina Hof winery.  The food was great, and so was the wine.  I'm not much of a win-o, but enjoyed the little I had.  We even did a wine tasting after lunch and I brought a few bottles home to enjoy.   HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the dad's out there! Today we go to SS and church, then are taking my mom and stepdad out for lunch for Father's Day.  I have to do some picking up around the house.  Ben has all his wisdom teeth out tomorrow morning in Kingwood.  We'll have to leave early.  I'll let someone else post the Monday morning weigh-in.  I personally have to get back on track tomorrow.  I haven't realy gained weight lately, just want to take a few more pounds off.  I can see myself continuing to eat things I know I shouldn't, so it's time to reign it in for a while.   My lower body lift w/ Dr. Wainwright it ONE MONTH from today.  I'm ready for it! Sara...good to see you doing okay.  Hope all your pain stops soon.  When do you go back to work?  I tried 3 days after my gallbladder removal and regretted it.  Too uncomfortable.  Give yourself plenty of time. Terry Ann...ready for your knee surgery tomorrow?  Can Ben borrow some of your anesthesia?  Our dental insurance won't pay for anesthesia for his surgery.  I told him I'm not springing for it and he freaked out.  I think he believed me!  (In case anyone thinks I would make him do it w/o anesthesia, I'm just kidding...I guess I'll pay for it!)...I hope you go through your surgery smoothly and don't have any pain.  Good luck! Hope everyone has a great day! Karla

Good morning, TMB.  Happy Father's Day to all. These weekend runs on the WLS have slim pickings for riders.  Everyone must be riding the more stream lined faster engines. Hope everyone is making wise choices today.  I made the mistake of tasting some honey roasted peanuts. Wouldn't be bad if I would stop at the one ounce.....but..... Still wet and rainy here.  One of these days it will clear off.Karla, I hope Ben does alright with his oral surgery.  The dentist is one of my least favorite places to be. David,I hope that you are getting your well deserved rest. Sara, I hope that you are recovering from your gall bladder surgery with no problems. Everyone have a good day.

Good rainy Sunday morning TMB! I am sorely tempted to crawl back under the covers today but Sunday calls and I must go. I'm actually looking forward to church. Our pastor is in the middle of a series of sermons titled, "Band of Brothers.", and so far it has been excellent. I wouldn't want to miss a week.  I had a good time with the Sistahs yesterday. Gina and I introduced Tracey and her husband (the cabana boy) and daughter to the Studio Movie Grill experience. Of course everything we told them would happen, happened just the opposite, but it was fun! "Ocean's 13" is a feast for the eyes, ladies (and it was a pretty good plot too). I can't wait to hear how Ms. Sara faired over the weekend. I hope you took it easy, Ms. Orange!  Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there, and a special Father's Day hug to my special dad-pals, Papa Jack and the Train Man. God bless you both! Terry Ann,I am keeping you in my prayers for tomorrow. Let us know how you are doing, please! Listen to the doctor and take it easy. (Don't MAKE me come over there!) Prayers out to all who need 'em and love, hugs and kisses to all of y'all! MWAH!
XOXO

Good Morning,   Weeeeeeellllllllll let’s see how David’s R&R weekend is going so far – Get to bed around Friday night.  Phone rings at .  One of my shift managers is calling to tell me that we have an employee hurt with a displaced knee or broken leg.  Paramedics are treating right now (we have our own EMS staff and ambulance (MICU)).  I jump up, get dressed and head to the plant.  Meet the manager out in the parking lot.  He is going to the hospital with employee – needs help with accident investigation.  I goto the mill and help with that.  Stay with employees the rest of the night because they are pretty upset and trying to get the mill back up.  So I stay to make sure they stay focused and do not get in a hurry.  So manager calls back around to tell me that employee has a dislocated knee and that they have reset it.  For my nurses out there distal patellar subluxation of the right knee.  The ER doc reduced the knee and put a brace on it.  So the doc releases him, BUT with the orders to see an ortho before returning to work.  I am like great – he will have a lost time accident (this is an F on your report card to OSHA) – They get back – manager drives employee home and I stay until he gets back – line him out what has been done and what I am going to do.  It is now   I call my Safety Manager and see if he knows what we can do to get this guy released to restricted duty.  He says that he will call me back.  I go home and collapse in the bed.   At he calls and says that he has a doc that will see my employee.  He is up in Grand Prairie .  I call employee – make the arrangements and go get him.  Now as I am going I am making a bunch of phone calls to update my boss – assistant boss and manager.  Get employee and wife (who has a 2 week old baby – whom we leave with his MIL)  drive to Grand Prairie see doc.  Promise doc my sons that I will not let employee do anything above sitting at a desk with leg elevated and see ortho on Monday.  Releases employee to restricted duty – don’t have lost time accident now.  Much happier.   Drive employee and wife to pharmacy get happy pills for employee.  Drive employee and wife home.  Help employee (who has never used crutches before) into house.  Make sure they have all proper paperwork, contact numbers and how we will do transportation on Monday.  Get home at   Collapse in bed.  Get up around .  Shower and dress for wife and kids to take me to dinner for Father’s day.  Take wife to Cingular store and upgrade her Razor to a Blackberry Pearl.  Eat, Old Navy for last minute things oldest needs for Church camp –and matching shirts for July 3rd fireworks watching party.   Drop her off at Michael’s – Boys and I to Circuit City to buy her some memory for Pearl and my Motorola Q .  Walmart for weeks groceries and stuff for today to cook dinner for my dad.  Get home uppack and collapse in bed at this morning.   SOOOOOOO!!!!!! So far this weekend has not been much R&R.  Prayers for Mr. Tom and Ms. Q  Prayers for Ms. Danni  Prayers for Ms. Sara   Prayers for Annette’s boss Prayers for Robin F’s brother   Prayers for Ms. Michelle’s #2 son  Prayers for Ms. Jo Ann   Prayers for Ms. Debbie T’s husband on the job front.   Traveling prayers for Ms. Dannie, and Tim   Leaving RCC hooked for Ms. Sara and who ever else needs it. Vits going in – it is raining this morning so no walking so far – starting on liquids   Got chicken and ribs in the smoker - potatoes in the oven (wanted to put them in the smoker, but ran out of room.   Going to go get ready for church. GOOD MORNING!!! Sorry I missed the train yesterday- did post 1 thing but that was all I had time for. Chris did really well on his labs Friday. Thankfully. He had his last game yesterday- in the mud, now I've got to decide if I want to clean his cleats or just toss them. lol. There's a 50/50 chance he'll outgrow them before the next soccer season... so tossing them sounds like a good option. lol. Plus there would be 1 less thing to pack. lol.  Dang David- you sure had a heck of a Saturday! I didn't realize being injured on the job required so much work for others. Hope the employee is better soon and I hope you get some rest today!  Karla- my parents paid for the anesthesia too for me when I was in college and had to have them yanked. I hope it goes well tomorrow. Give em lots of pudding and ice cream!  Today is church and packing. I promise before the day is over that I will pack at least 10 boxes. That's my goal at least. And I have to get groceries.  Last night we went to eat at Logan's-yum- and saw Knocked Up. It was a funny movie but the F word was used far to many times.  Hope everyone has a great day today!!!

Good morning TMB!!! Karla, thanks for getting us started this morning!!  I am still giggling over you telling Ben you aren't springing for the pain meds for his oral surgery.  Sounds like something I'd say to my kids - and they are gullible enough to believe it too!!    You'd think after YEARS of me teasing them that they'd get a clue, but NOPE!!  Kids sure are funny.... It's a quiet morning here after a long night.  The dogs woke me at 2:00 am barking at the thunder and lightening.  No rain, just thunder and lightening.  UGH!! Guess that means I have to use the sprinklers again today. No big plans for Father's Day as hubby is deployed and my Dad and FIL are in TN and AL respectively. Will make phone calls and send e-mail to hubby.  Beyond that, the teenager and I are heading to church and MAYBE out to eat.  Oh, I am also making Mel's crockpot ribs today after waiting too late to start them yesterday.  Bad planning on my part.  Can't wait to have those for dinner tonight.   That's it from South Texas!!  Have a great day everyone!!  MAKE GOOD CHOICES!!
