Hi, I was just paying my electic bill...ugh and I was thinking that it would be fun if OH organized a cruise!!!....Maybe they have already?...but they could have workshops, vendors (maybe), speakers...Just a short cruise..?  What do you think?...I'd have to save up though...especially coming from Washington state...this is our first summer in Texas...I'm dreading our electric bills already!  eeek! Take care,  Tera

That would be a wonderful idea. I have been thinking about taking one and if they planned one like that they would probably sell out fast. Come on everyone, lets get the idea out. Amy PS: Don't worry about your electric bill it couldn't be any worse that your heating bill in Washington could it.

Amy, Nope not the case...unfortunately.  Our furnace in Wa.  (western Wa.) was gas also our home there was almost half the size as here in Tx...but our heating bill usually was never over $250.../mo...I have heard people talk about what they pay for the electric bill here over the summer so I'm just brasing myself and we are deffinately planning on ways to better insulate our home for the heat! Thanks, Tera

I would be so on that boat! With the ships cruising out of Galveston, it is possible to get a 5 night cruise for 239 bucks to Cozumel  through Carnival.  It doesn't include drinks or tips, nor offshore excursions, but food, shows, and the cruise are included! It would just be fun to get everyone on it.... regardless if we had the speakers or not.  I would think, in order to get speakers and special menus, etc., the passengers (over 2500 of them) would have to be exclusively bariatric or looking into it.   I have a contact at Carnival... and could look into special rates.  Anyone out there a travel agent that can do this up right???   Sam would soooo love to go with me!!!  lmao  Robin

RNY on 11/15/05 with
Tera; OH already does this. Last year's cruise was a week long Hawaiian cruise. I think this year's cruise is to Alaska. Check the home page for more info.

I would love to do an inexpensive Texas cruise.  Just need to give people some time to save and make plans.

OH has done a couple of them. I went on one through the board, but not sponsored by OH a couple of years ago out of Galveston. It was REALLY nice and the fare was much cheaper than normal. Sounds like a good idea to me!

I just found this out a couple weeks ago but some boats are sailing out of Galveston - when I found that out I almost tinkled my pants! Talk about saving you cash if you live in TX!!! That got me excited to say the least. I know that on the RNY board there was a cruise to the carribean circulating around there for a while. Certain docs were going to be there but I don't think it was OH sponsored. Don't really know the details. But I do know that OH cruises exsist! How cool is that?
