My insurance..........
Ok, I'm fuming!!!! I spoke to my insurance company on the 25th and they gave me an authorization number b/c I "had been approved". I had my surgery consult and surgery scheduled for July 25th..............Dr's office called today and said they were calling my insurance to set up surgery and they said I wasn't approved yet?????
I called and the first person I spoke to was very nice, acknowledged the date that I spoke to them and even read me the number back, then transferred me to another department to try to find out what was going on...................we'll I got this HATEFUL woman who quickly informed me that my information was "invalid" and that I hadn't been approved yet. Told me to call back late this week or early next week to find out, or better yet wait on my approval letter in the mail!!!
I was am so mad!!! She didn't have to be rude to me about it, I didn't do anything but trust the previous info I had been given...........Has this EVER happened to anyone before???
What do I do now???

Oh, Shannon, I am so sorry to hear about your insurance trouble. I would be furious too. Maybe Dr B can hold your spot until they get it straightened out. You still have 3 weeks before your date. It always amazes me how rude people can be and I am so sorry that you had to go through that. Are you going to Dr B's support group meeting on Saturday? If so, maybe we can meet. Now you are scaring me! Which insurance company do you have? I have only gotten an approval over the phone, no letter yet. I have BCBS TRS activecare
Sorry you are going through this. Hopefully it is just a minor set back and you will be getting an approval letter in the mail soon.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
BCBS TRS is not difficult to approve, as long as you meet the requirements. I've seen a lot of people with BCBS TRS get surgery. Congrats on your approval!
To the OP, hang in there... I had my insurance do that...v erbally approve an appeal.... and later deny in writing.... just hang in, you probably have a little more to work it out... and then it will happen... I had to fight for it, but I did get it! :)

Sorry to here that your on this rollercoaster!...All's I know is that this is so worth fighting for...I have tried to prepare myself for insurance probs too...and I will keep fighting...I never deal with the "low men on the totem pole"...when calling on anything...I ask directly for a supervisor/manager!...why should I have to explain myself over and over again....the squeaky wheel gets the greese!...ow and you can attrack more bees with some honey than vinegar...or what ever that saying is!...

Thanks for the support guys. I was completely shocked by this and so incredibly disappointed!! I will call tomorrow and hopefully I will hear something soon. I know this is going to happen, it just may be delayed a little. I've worked too hard to give up, I should have known this was moving way too quickly and easily!! :)
Don't worry about BCBS, you'll be fine. I have Definity, United Health Care, normally an easy company, so I'm having faith it will all work out!!!
