Northeast Dallas/Psy-Med support group mtg

For those of you that attended the NE Dallas support group meeting hosted by Psy-Med this morning here is an update.  We have started an on-line support group and I am extending an open invitation to anyone that wants to join.  The group is for anyone that lives in the Dallas area...pre-op, post-op, those seeking information, etc.  It is primarily comprised of Dr Barker's patients but ANYONE is welcome to join.  I had some trouble sending out invites so I am using this forum to get the word out. It doesn't matter if you had/are having RNY, lapband, DS, etc all are welcome.  The site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dallaslosers.  We would like to also get some activities going such as a clothing exchange, organized walks and parties!!!! Come join us!!!!!!

Hey Stephanie! I got the invite and I have already responded. It was so great meeting you, Jen and Chris today! And what a great meeting too!  I learned a lot...gave me some fodder for more thought...and made me just feel all warm and fuzzy! Thanks again for letting us in on that well kept secret of a support group and for starting this online group...good luck on the 30th and our prayers will be with you and Dr. Barker.

Love the idea of this Stephanie - it was so cool of you to set this up. I love OH but it's even more awesome to have this extra support tool to aid you when you need a cyber hug or to celebrate a HUGE success or to just plain gripe! Please - anyone interested come and join us. By no means you have to leave OH (I know I'm not!!!) but if you want to share on a different board where you may get some additional responses we'd love to have you! Thanks Steph - I don't know why I never posted a support group meeting before for Dr. B but I love them and they keep me motivated! It was fun meeting so many more people - there is such power in others!!! Yay!

Jenny it was nice meeting you at the meeting yesterday.  I am the woman that sat across from you.  My name is Teena.  I love the attitude you have and your positive outlook on things.  It will be nice to know people like you as I approach my surgery date, Aug 3rd.  I have support from family and friends but sometimes you don't know if it's just words. 

You know lip service only goes so far I agree! But there are a lot of great people here on OH and also on the Texas board that can help you and just want the best for you just because! How many people can say that? Not many I assure you! So keep coming back and sharing and asking and we'll always be here to lift you up and support you. Personally I couldn't ask for more! Good luck on August 3rd - you are going to so great!
