I saw your post and read that you're from Rowlett. I moved from Rowlett to Quinlan back in June with my family. Now we are closer to my parents and extended family so we can help. It
was a good choice but I sure miss Rowlett !
I also see that you went to Dr. Barker . I have heard of him and plan to call for a consult. I'd love to hear what you think about him and the facilities he uses.
Thanks,

Lisa
I'm still new so I haven't reached the amazing milestones some of you have, but a SMET for me is: to get up from any chair without having to wiggle my way forward and push myself up.
Ever been stuck in someone's couch or big comfy chair? I always thought it was the chair or couch, but it was really me. I didn't have any core strength to move my body!
Another SMET: Walk up the central stairway at work to the third floor while having a conversation with someone. My office building is a complete open design and there are stairs in the middle. Everyone can see the folks walking up and down the stairs. If you skip the stairs and take the elevator then they see that, too. My knees were so bad and noisy when I walked the stairs, not to mention being out of breath by the time I reached the third floor, that I would sometimes avoid it. I can do it now. My knees still scream in pain, but I am not out of breath!

I weighed 313 pounds on December 1, 2008 the day of my RNY surgery and have lost 81%
of my excess body weight to-date. Current as of November 1, 2009
OH Mini-Challenge Goal for New Year's Day is 170 pounds. 11 pounds to go!
Crossing my legs to sit like lady
Being able to wear my heels again and not have my knees kill me
Helping the hubby clean out the garage last night
To keep my house clean (i would be exhausted after 20 min)
To go shopping with others and not have to go to the other area to shop for clothes
Walk past the box of donuts that is STILL sitting by the coffee pot
That's all I can think off but I get a new SMET almost everyday!!!
SMET fly - buh-bye seat belt extender!
SMET dry off after a shower without propping parts up on something off the ground
SMET find clothes that are fashionable
SMET stay on the treadmill for more than five or ten minutes at a time
The most important:
SMET get up and be H-A-P-P-Y everyday!!!
